Adam is Angry #3Or should I say "Adam WAS Angry?"
You see, I watched Southland Tales today for my Film Studies class that I sit in on. That movie is abominable. It's so bad that it leapfrogs "so bad it's good" and heads straight to "so bad you want to gouge your eyes out, remove your eardrums, and erase the memory of the past 2 hours and 40 minutes." I'd argue that Ed Wood has competition for worst film of all time. At least Plan 9 and Glen or Glenda are charmingly bad.
I can handle that bad movies exist though. What I can't handle is the fact that this POS made it into Cannes, pushing out some much more worthy film in the process. It was so bad that it was booed out by the festival crowds.
But then I walked 4 feet out of the screening room and checked my blackberry for new emails. And then I read the email I'd gotten from Vancouver Film School. And then a grin spread across my face.
It's official -- I'm going to attend Vancouver Film School's one year, high-intensity Film Production program starting July 5th. I say high intensity, because with the exception of the 2 weeks off I get for Christmas, I'll be putting in 10-12 hour days. While I'm there I'll be living with Knuckles Dawson, and we'll presumably be teaming up to provide some more-funny and more-frequent AH videos, and a solid bunch of AHTV episodes.
Southland Tales just became one of my favourite films of all time.
