I don't really know, but I bet neither is wrong.

My day is going, overall, great!

Which RTAA is your favorite?
#5  Posted 1 year ago  |  + 1 Ditto
I thought about this earlier today. It may change from time to time, but right now it's Brandon and the Electric Fence.
#1  Posted 1 year ago
This is also one of my favorites. I love Anime Burnie.

What made you decide to make the RTAAs?
#8  Posted 1 year ago
It was the byproduct of boredom, creativity, and watching too many Homestar Runner DVDs

What was the most difficult RTAA thus far to animate?
#9  Posted 1 year ago
Psh. Have you seen them? Do they look hard?

Haha, in all seriousness, that fucking snake in Joel Hates Snakes took forever, and I don't know why.

Do you ever plan on moving to Austin to work with RoosterTeeth?

How about what's next? Do you have anything planned for the future?

Have you thought of doing a collection of all the RTAA when you hit a certain milestone?

Were you a fan of the webcomics, and did they help inspire the series?
#12  Posted 1 year ago
I was a big fan of the RT comics (I assume that's what you're referring to), but they had little influence in my creating RTAA.

Did you imagine that the RTAA would have taken off in the way it did, leading you to working with RT as you do now?

Not at all, but that just makes it cooler, doesn't it?

After going into the past Podcasts...do you find it strange that Burnie called you out back then (really pissed off too) after you made the Conan post then you find yourself buddies now with the Crew?
#16  Posted 1 year ago
It's a little strange, I guess. I remember way back when I first made them, I was wondering what Burnie thought, if he hated them secretly because some jerk from the site was making them. Turns out he didn't even remember.

as a person who is working on becoming an animator,
what tips and advise would you give me?
#17  Posted 1 year ago  |  + 1 Cool
When I started, I did it because I wanted to. I was no good and was terribly disorganized. But, like most things, the more you do it, the better you get at it. So just keep doing it, and study the animations/cartoons you love and learn from them.

Are you currently in College? How much time does it take to produce the RTAA?
#20  Posted 1 year ago
No, not anymore. Making RTAAs is my full time gig now.

Production time varies. The omnibus style of cartoons are actually more work, because they usually require different backgrounds and props that need to be drawn for each segment, so the amount of work in pre-production is equal to two or three f...

Are you doing a special RTAA for RTX?

Post edited 3/23/12 2:28PM
#21  Posted 1 year ago
I'd like to, but I've got a lot of stuff in the works (also for RTX) and on top of that, the usual work on producing cartoons, so I'm concerned about stretching myself too thin, as I haven't done any side projects before. So we'll see.

Between drawing and sound editing, how long does it take to make one AA? Have you ever thought about trying a 5-10 minute version, perhaps a "super omnibus"?
#22  Posted 1 year ago
I am relatively new to animating, so I am not uber-effecient, so making cartoons that are 90-120 seconds long is a triumph for me in a week. I cannot imagine doing a really long one when I can just break it up into parts and work on it over time. Doing anything else would mean sacrificing the once-a...

how did you come up with the idea of i'm going to animate the storys they told and how was it to create a video out of what you have just heard
#23  Posted 1 year ago
I wanted to make my own cartoon but had no means to record any dialogue for it. I'd just heard the story from podcast 71 and decided to animate that.

How long does it take for you to animate 1 episode?
What inspires you?
Who is the hardest Animated Adventure character to draw? Who is the easiest?

#29  Posted 1 year ago
To be honest, no, I don't really aim for a certain style. I take, or try to take, aspects from many of the cartoons I love, like Homestar Runner, the Awesome Series, or Ed Edd n Eddy, and put them into my work.

When you listen to the Podcast for the first time do you think about what would make a good RTAA or do you just listen back later?
#30  Posted 1 year ago
Sometimes it clicks, sometimes it doesn't. This is why the RTAA Requests forum in to official RTAA group is so vital to me.
#1  Posted 1 year ago
For instance, Joel vs. Technology sat in that forum for a year and a half before I finally figured out how to animate it.
