Halo 4 ThoughtsWell I just finished the article in Game Informer on Halo 4. I'm super excited about the campaign and I think they have some great ideas on multiplayer and the idea of a story behind that with episodic content. That is brilliant. I also like the idea of making Chief into John, the books have always provided a better idea of who Spartan 117 was and I think the new trilogy will add to that. However, going to a more COD style of play does not make me happy. I have never enjoyed that style of shooter as well online. Moving the power weapons around may be a cool idea though.

What are your thoughts on the game?

I haven't play CoD online so I can't really offer any opinions on the gameplay, but the story sounds amazing. Just more incentive to play 2, 3, and ODST before it comes out. Also I like the idea of the co-op stuff having effects in the main campaign.

I just finished the article this morning and I like what they're doing with it. I was a little nervous at first about the idea of 343 taking over from Bungie but it looks like they're doing good work. I like the sound of the Infinity gameplay mode but I doubt I'll have time to stay caught up with it.

COD style isn't bad, unless they only give me the option to run for 5 seconds at a time. That'll make me mad,

Well Sprint is a standard power now.

calling it a COD style gameplay is a little bit of false advertisement because COD ripped almost everything it has off of halo and battlefield and a few tom clancy games.

and im sure they'll test run it before going completely with it anyway.

thats still from battlefield 2, but i see your point. but honestly, i think the game will be great if they keep a classic mode.

I was thinking of COD because I've never played Battlefield.

I also read this article and I am impressed by the work so far by 343. I like COD, but never thought about Halo versus it. I can play both styles of games and be happy and not worry.

My thoughts are that maybe they'll release Halo 3 for PC, now...

I kinda like having the build your own class, but then again, I like Halo's (well not just Halo's but you get the idea) everyone's the same soldier, just with different guns, let only your skills be the reason for victory or defeat.

In other words, we'll have to wait and see. But I'm looking forward to it.

Yeah I think Class Building and Character Modding to that extent really benefits veteran players way too much. It's hard for a new person to pick up on COD or the like especially when kill streaks get brought into the mix.

I'm heavily involved in the Halo 4 thread. I'm excited about the game, and today's Sparkcast cleared up a few things that made Halo 4 sound less CoD like. But there are still a lot of elements in there that concern me, we'll see.

I'm glad that Armor Lock won't be in the game, that was just complete bogus asshandery. I like that you won't be able to customize loadout with power weapons, and that Sprint is a default ability. What wasn't explained very well was, do you pick up other abilities, or is Sprint always there and you can choose another ability such as Jet Pack? (Fett loves his Jet Pack). And if you can have two abilities at once, is there a meter for both, or a shared meter?
Also, too bad there won't be an open Beta a la Reach.
