All done. I decided to just make it into a wall hanging, since if I tried to turn it into anything useful, my mom would insist it was 'too nice to use' and then it'd be useless! So now it can just hang above her desk or something in the office where she'll be able to see it.
(Once again, so glad my mom doesn't know how to get here!)
When I was sort of doodling-embroidering the other day I made a jelly fish and my mom mentioned she'd love to have a mermaid so that's what sparked the idea.
