Gus has openly admitted he's basically held the site together for years with essentially digital duct tape.

Making fun of Jack and Gavin isn't fun anymore, Jack has a beard now so that's endeared him to me somewhat and Gavin... well picking on the special kid stopped being fun halfway ...

I never understand why websites have downtime... whenever i update a website i do the work offline and then publish the files and replace any that a nessacery. or maybe they have so many files it takes almost 2 hours.... Conspiracy theory ahoy!

We do code updates all day every day. This maintenance isn't a code thing.

Large Scale database-driven websites without a budget like google or facebook require occasional (few times a year) downtime to properly maintain.

We found a bug where it wasn't cancelling properly. -- Your subscription through paypal likely was cancelled, or the card you originally setup with expired. (or it failed due to NSF)
