Good grief, my heart started pounding just reading the TITLE-ain't no way I'll be able to read the article. (needless to say I am sensitive to low frequency noises)
Love me a good audio article! Feels like I am back in my college acoustics seminar. It would be interesting to see some of these principles applied to video games but in a less intense manner, adding to the player's immersion.
While there's a ton of false information out there about the attempts at using sound for mind control, it doesn't surprise me that acoustic weapons are very real and the possibilities of using sound to harm are not fantasy. It's sad the paper focuses mostly on the negative possible effects of sub and super-sonic sounds, as I think there's a lot of positives that can come from sound.
...then again, I'm biased about that.
