RT & AH Mobile AppsSo, we're in the midst of re-working our mobile apps, and I figured we should just go directly to our community.

What functionality is most important to you?

Should Rooster Teeth and Achievement Hunter be separate Apps?

Leave suggestions, desires, comments on this thread.

+1 for Android App request

I think they should be combined. Just have different sections for each one, kinda like how we have separate websites for AH and RT but they look exactly the same.

I concur. Chocolate and peanut butter are great separate but no one complains when you mix them. There is no wrong way to waste your day on the internet.

My brother screams at me when I mix the chocolate and peanut butter together. He's 22.

Can we just have an android app, please?
#4  Posted 2 years ago
Same app, but you can flip between both just like the site.

The ability to make posts and receive notifications on the go would be nice.

I got 2 weeks ago. Also the app doesn't fit an iPhone 5 screen.
#3  Posted 2 years ago
Maybe like a twitter interface? And definitely for loads of different phones, not just iPhone or Android, Blackberry maybe? And RT/AH should just have different sections basically, not different apps. More effort.

Most important functionality: Working Vidoes
Separate apps would be nice.

For the amount of content that Achievement Hunter has, there should definitely be a separate app just for them. Plus having features like their amazing working catalog of game guides and community videos would be awesome to have on the go and when you're not near a computer.

Absolutely, I usually play my Xbox separately from my computer. A mobile app with those Achievement Hunter Features on it would be perfect.
#3  Posted 2 years ago
I didn't know there was an app, but I remembered I'm on Android...

You can't ignore android users, they now outnumber iPhone users. What about scrapping App and having a responsive site?
#10  Posted 2 years ago
That's what they're working on as well as this. They don't have Google's genius design team yet...

Do it like the site where it's just a green skin for AH and the classic red for RT

Podcast live streams, also you can't watch episodes if you are sponsor(current eps.)

Ditch app all together and make the website responsive.

The mobile site definitely needs some work. Groups are completely inaccessible without a notification, and when they're loaded, they look like a fucked up condensed version of the desktop site. Messages are inaccessible without a notification, and you can't send messages at all. For sponso...

I don't think separate apps would make sense. Considering the main aspects between the sites are the same anyway. I would like an Android app :P

I would say a nice UI for profiles and homepages, maybe a chat UI (though I dunno how frequently that would get used), Forums, and a video search specific to the app?

I vote for just making the website responsive. No need for separate apps.

I gave them +1 each. It's that admin tag. It holds power.

If they at least listen to somebody about responsive then I'm happy ha ha.

It needs to be able to watch all videos and podcasts with 1 app. Anything else is icing.

A Windows Phone version would be awesome. I know I'm one of 12 people that have a Windows Phone, but an app is better than using the browser.

I too have a windows phone, and actually enjoy it. Lumia 920 as well.

I would prefer to have everything in one Rooster Teeth App. However, with the recent breakout of Let's Play into it's own channel, if you are trying to position AH as it's own offering then I can understand two. I feel like programming one App would be easier

Functionality Wise, I would mainly want easy access to videos by series (RvB, RTAA, etc.) and some of the community functionality. I tend to check things like Facebook and Twitter more on my phone these days, so being able to do that easily with the RT community stuff would be excellent.

Keep Up the Great Work!

I would have to agree. It would be more simple to keep both sections in 1 app just for practicality and programming sake. Also it wouldn't take up as much memory usage as running 2 separate programs. On the other hand it would be a lot faster to load a single section than running it all at once...

Yes, definately needs easy video access and (something the YouTube app lack) A 'mark as watched' option. I watch vids when I can not as they're made and I always spend the first five minutes working out where I'm up to. (Especially with minecraft LP's)

I can't seem to fast forward or rewind whenever I play the podcasts. It's a hassle when I have to pick up where I left off incase I cut it off early, or even re-listen to a hilarious part

THIS. I cant stand the new podcast format. Im glad it keeps you from skipping ads but good lord theres gotta be a better way, especially if its as easy as making an app. Definitely worth a dollar on google play.

Accessing playlists and daily updates are important to me. As for the separation of the apps, I would personally like a Let's Play app for Achievement Hunter and a separate Roosterteeth app.

I think a Rooster Teeth app that compiles everything in one app would be best. That way you don't have to go back and forth. I believe the app should basically have a streamlined version of the site that lets you do most of the same things. I honestly wouldn't mind paying a buck or two if I had to either..

I don't think separate apps are necessary, just one with different sections for AH/RT, same as the website does now. Definitely necessary that it can be available, at the least, to Android and iPhone users.

Access to the forums and the ability to interact on them would be great, very important to me at least. Being able to watch videos from the various series straight from the app would be great as well! No matter what though, as long as it's up to date and gives me the ability to keep up with the RT/AH community on the go, I'll be satisfied!
