Jamie LeeSo, I've got just over a week until I meet Jamie Lee Curtis at Horror Hound Weekend. I'm so excited and I know it's worth it but jeez, do I feel like I'm jumping through some hoops. First, had to order autograph vouchers online beforehand. No hopping in line to meet her. I'll have a time interval in which to do so, which they'll announce over the PA. And if I miss that mark, I'm screwed. The vouchers were very expensive for just an autograph. She's donating all the money to a children's hospital so that makes it more than worth it. Honestly, if she was pocketing the money, I'd still pay it. It's Jamie Lee Curtis! Of course I'll pay. But I guess a lot of other people feel the same way. The demand has been pretty high. Higher than they thought. Autograph vouchers for day 1 are sold out, day 2 are almost sold out and the tickets just to get into the show (not for anything to do with Jamie Lee) are will-call only now. I'm glad I noticed. I'd be meeting Jamie Lee but not able to do anything else. No vender room, no other opportunities to meet semi-celebrities, no wandering around with a big, stupid grin on my face, looking at cool stuff I can't afford to buy. This is the most complicated horror con I've ever seen. But I shouldn't be surprised. It's Jamie Lee Curtis. The extent to which this event is rare is absolutely stunning. And I'll be there.

I'm all tingly with excitement! It feels like it has been ages since I've been to a horror convention. And that's because it's been well over a year! No longer!

HorrorHound Weekend

Oh, I've been waiting for this! I'm not terribly excited about any of the guests. All people I've met before or people I wouldn't wait in line to meet. But I've got a tiny stack of money that needs to become a tiny stack of movies. And it shall be done! Weeee! I'm so excited!

Crisis avertedAll is well! I have a job for a least 2 more years. But, just the same, I'm still liking the idea of something new. I think I'll keep looking.

What else... My friend Kelli just graduated from nursing school. Yay! And she's considering jobs here in Indy. Yay! And for her graduation present, I took her shopping for a nice, professional, grown-up business suit. I also took her shopping for some decent make-up (none of that drug store crap). She went from disheveled college student to classy business woman in one weekend (and it was an expensive one). *takes a bow*

Saturday will be my three year anniversary here and I won't be around to enjoy it. Oh well. Hmm... oh, this was great. I finally got up the nerve to ask a guy out and was immediately turned down. Ugh.

What other news... Saw the Avengers last weekend. Amazing. Going again this weekend if all works out. Honestly, if you haven't seen it yet, go. It is worth it. Even my tightwad brother agrees. Worth every penny.

The panic sets in mildly.I've been at this same job doing pretty much the same thing for the past seven years. Seven years in one place in one position is a long time in my line of work and it looks like it might be coming to an end. The likelihood of our company getting another contract to continue our services to the State is looking worse and worse. We've been significantly underbid. So now the State has to decide whether or not they will sacrifice a superior product for a lower price tag. And I have to decide whether or not to jump ship before the sinking even starts. I've already applied for another job so at least I've popped that particular cherry. I gotta say, perfect timing, fate. I just bought a house, damn it. Now I gotta find a new job so I can keep that house. Craptastic.

Part of me is relieved though. Now I am forced to find another job and perhaps it will be more secure. It's the nature of this kind of work that it could simply just end. Big contract work is that way. Extenstions and renewals won't always happen and at the end of the quarter, you'll be out of a job. At least, worst case scenario, I have until July to find a new job. Maybe I'll even find a career.

I got FU'd! Once again, something amazing happens around here when I'm nowhere to be found. I missed my FU day. Sad Panda.

I've been ridiculously busy lately. I bought a house! Cute little three bedroom, two bathroom, huge kitchen (yay!) house. My dad and I just finished putting down a beautiful engineered hardwood floor. I got new carpeting in the rest of the house and am in the process of painting every wall, ceiling and peice of trim. I'm fairly certain that I have never worked this hard before in my life. I'm sore of muscle and lacerated of skin and I have ceiling paint under my fingernails. And I've never been happier.

Halloween! Can't believe it's already over. Didn't get many good pictures but here's one photo of my costume.

Look at the adorable mummy cat in my arms. So cute. Other pictures were taken that night; I just haven't been able to get my hands on them.

I can't even tell you how many hours I spent making this costume. Just one of the gloves took me two and a half hours. The mask took three hours. Worth it though. It turned out great and I got a lot of compliments on Halloween night. And since all the pieces are separate and held up pretty well, it is a very reusable costume. I'll wear it again some day when it is not so cold out. Man, I was freezin'.

I got flowers! They were delivered to me at work today. I'm not exactly a girlie girl but it's nice to get flowers. This is the second time in my whole life. I feel special.

This past weekend...... I went to a high school graduation open house for a girl I used to babysit.

Has anyone seen my walker? Near blindness and Alzheimer's has me misplacing it all the time.
