burnie Cast & Crew
ThetaGlad to finally introduce Theta to the world. He's been written into the series for a while and is one of the most referenced characters that had yet to be featured in a scene. He appeared briefly in Reconstruction and was heavily talked about in Recovery One, but it's nice to finally give him a chance to shine. No pun intended. The animation team did an excellent job bringing him to life and capturing his essence; they are really killing it this season. The testing scene in today's episode was actually the very first scene in the original draft of Season 10. I wanted to show how far the Freelancers had come in their training since the end of Season 9. Ultimately, we decided to start with a battle sequence to get the audience immediately pumped up.

The dynamic between North and Theta is an important one. It shows just how much the AI help the Freelancers use their equipment, but more importantly it clearly demonstrates the value of Counsellor's psych profiles and matching system. No one could nurture Theta's child-like persona the way that North can.

Theta is voiced by a child actor we hired. He is not voiced by any of the RT staff's kids. The (creepy) Theta voice in Season 6 was done by me.

@Dylan6 there is actually a Finnish word for "Grammar Nazis" ... the word is Pilkunnussija and here is the Official Definition:
Noun (Vulgar, pejorative)- A person with exceptional and unnecessary attention to detail.
Noun- A person who believes it is their destiny to stamp out all spelling...

Wouldn't that make things return to the beginning? Hence an infinite loop.

That was an awesome addition to the show. That character was a hell of a lot of fun to just watch. Every time the scene cut away from him I just really wanted it to go back. And I loved the interaction between him and Delta, due to Delta's dry behaviour.

I imagine his personality is modelled after Nathan because when he talks, it's important.

Even though you did the voice before, I still feel a little creeped out about a child in a battle situation. If that was your purpose, well done

I don't know how to link a comment, but I noticed that the DID in pop culture page lacked a reference to the Alpha and remedied that.

Any reason why you decided to animate Theta, but keep Delta the same?
#20  Posted 10 months ago
Delta is cold and calculated. He doesn't need to move around, making gestures, to relay what he's got to say.
#3  Posted 10 months ago
Blutonian Spooner
@yairzucker If I may disagree, Theta has made double the amount of declarative statements since Delta's appearance. That indicates a hundred percent increase in confidence since they modified their interaction strategy. I think that speaks volumes to Delta's caring algorithms...

@theepiclord Technically he hasn't. Maine has been introduced but the Meta is what Maine becomes when he starts assimilating all the other A.I's, what Sigma turns Maine into. The Meta is a combination of AI's, and from what I can gather from the season 10 trailer, they're headed ...

OnyxDeadShot Sahil
Exactly what I was implying. We've met Maine and we know he is called the Meta but the Meta is a combination of multiple AI's. So when I say Meta, I am referring to the group of AI's that, as mentioned by @Emoskins, are headed by Sigma.

I really enjoy watching any scenes with the AI's. I enjoy the way they help flesh out not only the Freelancers they are paired with not only with how they interact with one another, but also with how they interact with the world and action around them (ie South and Delta in Revelation). Keep up the great work, good sir!

I really like Theta. Your version of his voice was creepy as hell, so I'm very interested to see where this goes. I love me some psychological plot bunnies.

The animation was fantastic too. Noticed the difference in style immediately. Kudos for constantly bringing surprises to every single episode y'all create.

It would be cool to see A.I.'s that didn't make it into the program. I thought it was great how Theta was shy cause it gave him more of a human figure than i've seen in most A.I.s i've seen...you know...cause i've seen so many.
