If you could do some power stuff......would you fight crime? This was one of those late night editing conversations Chris and I had. His answer was a pretty good one, how do you go and "fight crime?" and "...no". Would you feel a responsibility to move to Sudan and help people if you had some super human ability?

On a related note: I love batman but he needs to stop getting credit for "not having super powers." Being a super billionaire is a super power. He has Super human abilities that 99% of the world can't have because he has the money to make whatever he wants. If spiderman is in a jam he has a couple options: jump or shoot some web. Batman can do almost anything and you'll accept it because he is super rich. We need to put an end to this madness. Alright back to work.

Knowing my luck I would get a really crappy superpower like the ability to talk to snails or something like that

Could make some serious cash if you talked to the Strawberry growers. I could see that power being useful. :P

Exactly! Here's the problem: so he tells the snails to leave the strawberries alone but then where do the snails go? I mean they gotta eat too. Does he just tell them to die? I mean then what good is his power? All the snails would be dead. I am thinking about this way too much.

Iron Man is the same way. His superpowers boil down to being obscenely rich. The only difference between Batman and Iron Man is that, while Tony Stark was spending a lot of time and money to make a suit of super-armor, Bruce Wayne was actually doing some training.

Long story short, Batman > Iron Man.

I would fight if I had the endurance. I don't so I won't. If I did, I would probably be running around in a leather suit like Miss Selina Kyle.

What level of power are we talk about? Spiderman I rob from the rich and give to poor, or cosmic level like the silver surfer be I'd either find a better place to live with my family or split planet in two and let the world burn. Because lets be honest we can't and don't/want to save everyone and if you can't save them, destroy everyone instead.

everyone wants superpowers the real question is what kind of superpower would you have and what would you do with it would you help people or would you become a super villain soooo basically i`m asking. good or evil?
#37  Posted 8 months ago
Check out my response (or read its summary):

I would have to choose Gravity Control. Because gravity has a hand in everything. From your bike riding to the shape of a galaxy. If you can control that you control it all. I'd be neutral. Doing only as much good as would be/is needed.

I think I would take the super power of being super rich over things like flight any day, either that or some super power that gave me a really awesome internet connection...

I would fight crime but i would have to be compensated some how. A guy has to make a living. I'd be a mercenary type hero, like Deadpool.

Batman deserves all the credit he can get. Batman is not superhuman and if we are going off of Nolans trilogy, there are several instances when he isnt using money at all... IE his training in crime and prisons that eventually led him to be trained by the league of shadows all came from him giving up his fortune and being a regular human being. Also whether hes rich or not is not the point.Do you see donald trump risking his life to save the poor and abused? Or really any rich person? All they do is sit on their ass and make more money. Also some parting words... A hero can be anyone even if its someone giving a coat to a scared boy to tell him that the world isnt ending.

No and no. Although it really depends on the superpower(s). Crime fighting is just so repetitive. I'd try not to let people know about my power(s) though.

Is it a power? Sure. But it doesn't deal with the fact that the job of super hero is physically demanding and risky. Money doesn't buy you improved physical skills (at least, not much beyond what a person with an average paycheck can afford) with possible exception to excellent training. His genetically mutated contemporaries, on the other hand, you get the impression that many of them do have physical development such that it's not an issue (to the extreme of Superman who you have to work to beat rather than the reverse)

Batman's super power is that he is scary and terrifies the bad guys. The money/technology is the "magic" that helps him be super scary.
That is why the Joker is his nemesis, because the Joker is not afraid of batman.
#44  Posted 8 months ago
Joker just didn't care, so yeah, he wasn't afraid of anything. Neither was Bane. Neither was Ras A'Ghul (spelling). The top villians (and heros) are generally those who are so focused on a goal that nothing can stop them. Not even threat of death.

I freely admit that I would be evil. I'd help myself and build awesome things that only I could operate. I'd try to create a utopian society like Bioshock except without the whole falling to pieces.

Being evil is just FUN.

I wouldn't hurt civilians with petty crimes though like robbing banks. More like fighting the government and putting in my own ideas.

If I had any super power I could want, it would be super speed.
Would I fight crime? No, but I'd also not let anyone know that I have this ability.
If you think about it, it's the best plan ever.

In short; no, I wouldn't be a superhero.

In long; 'Uncle Ben' says it best when he says "with great power comes great responsibility", and boy did he hit the nail on the head. Afterall, if you ignore a single crime or don't help a single person then you're not a superhero, you're a vigilante who picks and chooses what he does and who he helps.
There's also a quote from another film [that I can't remember now ] about 'good' and 'evil' being subjective. What I call dropping a bomb to destroy a vital power source that will cripple an invading country you may call killing tens of millions of people. In the end it seems like it would just be easier to remain blind and ignorant to all that happens...

If I had a superpower, my actions would depend on what powers I have. If I had a super power like flying or something, well what real use would that be against crime? I would help advance technology or assist in goodwill actions, deliver food to starving children and such.

If I was just super smart, or had some other type of mental power, I would use it to help safeguard people. Build technologies that protect soldiers in fights, or design a way to use the power to prevent military disasters, like if missiles were to head to the states and I had telekinesis I would use it to prevent the missiles from hitting anywhere that would be disastrous, crash it into the ocean or into an unpopulated area.

Brandon being a Billionaire isn't a super power if it was then you wouldn't get taxed out the noes for having that Power. His 'Power' Comes from his brain, his money is just a means of making what he thinks of happen

Batman in the comics is typically portrayed as one of the smartest people on the planet.

Making an argument for whether his brains are more responsible for his abilities or his money is kind of tricky though. They both go hand in hand. Give the average retard a bunch of money and I doubt they would b...
#4  Posted 8 months ago
Totally agree Darkonzo. But the thing about them is they made a way to turn their brain power into a way to sustain financial stability. Even though they both inherited a vast empire from their parents. But as far as batman goes, its multiple things that make him unique. If he didn't get traine...

The real question we should ask ourselves is what makes a superhero? Superman Batman firemen and cops all save people. It's what you do with yourself that matters.

Supervillain. Rob stuff, steal stuff, take expensive things that didn't belong to me, but do it with a snappy costume and some witty one-liners. Mostly steal from banks or those who are far too rich. Like Robin Hood but not give the money away. What I work hard why can't I have nice things?!
