RT Web Dev is expanding... Want a job?So.. Here's the deal, The RoosterTeeth web team is expanding. We're looking for someone who will work directly with @Ben & I for future website development here at RoosterTeeth. The catch is, you gotta be REALLY good at web development. I mean like, PHP stuff, eCommerce stuff, framework stuff, database stuff, All kinds of stuff. This is a full time position in Austin Texas, so you'll have to live / move here. Are you kick ass at web development? Maybe you know someone who is? Rooster Teeth Productions is seeking an experienced PHP developer to focus on eCommerce applications via PayPal. The ideal candidate will be working directly with the web development team and will take ownership of the eCommerce portion of our website. This position is a full time job in South Austin.
The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications & experiences: -- 3+ years complex software application development experience with eCommerce (preferably a PayPal solution) -- Strong experience with PHP, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX. -- Strong experience with MySQL, including query and DB optimization. -- Solid understanding of git-driven development. -- Solid understanding of software scaling practices, such as proper use of caching. -- Solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming -- Solid understanding of common design patterns -- Experience debugging complex code issues -- Must be able to assess large complex code base quickly and accurately -- Ability to collaborate effectively with other engineers, departments and organizations -- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and designs to non-developers -- Excellent communication skills, including presentation, written and listening -- Ability to handle pressure and challenging situations -- Extremely well organized and works efficiently
Additional Skills that would be a plus: -- Comfortable in a Unix/Linux environment -- Experience with other languages such as Java, Ruby, Perl or Python -- Experience with PHP Frameworks such as Zend, CodeIgniter, or Symfony. -- Experience with mobile browsers (iOS, Android, etc.) -- Familiarity with NoSQL servers such as Mongo or Cassandra. -- Familiarity with development best practices, such as code reviews and unit testing
Responsibilities: -- Maintaining & showing ownership of our eCommerce systems. -- Improving website code through fixing bugs submitted via in-house ticketing system. -- Develop, Review, and Rewrite new & existing software implementations. -- Improve and maintain website cross-compatibility for supported browsers. -- Able to work independently and manage their own schedule to properly meet deadlines. -- Able to promptly answer support related emails and questions.
