Day Z: A Quick UpdateThanks to the small amount of servers, along with the annoyance and length of time of manually updating the mod's files, I logged in to find myself dehydrated and starving. Thanks to the recent update, I could no longer fill my canteens with sea-water (makes sense). It was pitch-black and I could see on the blood indicator that I was dying of thirst. I didn't have much time. I looked out from the hillside to see a couple of flares had been struck up by the beach. Hoping for the best, I checked both of them and found a sole survivor named "Gleep" kneeling near one of the Flares. I needed to make this quick, bandits love to check out flares.

"Gleep, don't shoot, I'm a friendly. I'm dying of thirst and I need one of your canteens."

Just my luck. He was AFK. The way I saw it, I didn't have a choice and I couldn't risk waiting for any other survivors or bandits to show up. God knows where the hell the nearest water pump is, especially in the dark. I raised my winchester and fired a round into the back of his head. I searched his body, took a couple of pistol magazines, a water bottle and two cans of food.
"Did you just kill him for his water bottle?"
Someone had heard the shot, way off in the distance.
"I didn't have a choice, I was dying."
"Well played."
Yup... Killed an innocent man for his water bottle.
