Blaster bolts are not lasers, but are bolts of "high-energy particles." starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Blasters: "A blaster ... is a ranged weapon that fires bursts of particle beam energy ... from a replaceable power pack. The most commonly used weapon in the galaxy, blasters' intense beams consisting of compacted high-energy particles and intense light can kill or paralyze their target, depending on their setting."
OK I get that there is racism in the Phantom Menace and Transformers, and out of this I have thought of something. Is Tom Clancy racist? A lot of his games involve killing Mexicans. Seriously, think about this.
By the way, in regards to the laser thing. Some information on a loading screen (I can't remember if it's Star Wars: Republic Commando, Star Wars: Battlefront, or Star Wars: Battlefront 2) suggested the lasers were actually an energy enhanced projectile, which explains the concept of the weapons having ammo. In Republic commando, you actually see your guy pulling out a clip of something that looks like a loading bar with blue slots. So basically, you're firing a bullet. Which is kinda fire. And apparently does absolutely nothing to physical object, such as stormtrooper armor, as seen in episodes 4-6. The only apparent exceptions are the lasers on the LAAT dropships and the beam sniper rifles in Battlefront. Either way, the podcast is rather funny :)
I found it hilariously ironic that Burnie is arguing about the science of Star Wars blasters from a scientific viewpoint, given the complete fail in terms of understanding EMP in Reconstruction :)
I second that!

You guys should actually stick with a topic and talk about it until you're completely done with it. How big would that podcast be... 10 gigs? 20?
i think randel would win in a nerd fight and isnt there a part in clerks where they talk about the death star in episode 6
Why yes, they definitely used private contractors to build the second death star, but those contractors knew the risks taking the government contract.
i wonder how many private contractors did they use
Thank you for being hilarious!
