lightsabers aren't actually made of light in the fiction world they are but we make lightsabers out of plasma and ditto the bolts and no nobodies getting one cus it takes rooms full of equipment to make them and nobody can make the bolt caseing to hold the plasma .....so yea my nerd is showing

That, and think about this. How many people do you see efficiently wielding a katana to riposte a bullet back to it's shooter? Only Jedi use them because they're the only ones who can. A gun is an effective weapon, but a lightsaber is a more multi-purpose jedi tool. It's like the sword/key. Sometimes it's a sword, sometimes it's a key. The blasters are compressed gas carbines. The "laser" is the burning gases. Star Wars tech has been explained over the years.
going back and listening to all the old podcasts again. Burnie was correct about lightsabers. In "Swarm War" by Troy Denning, its stated that lightsabers do in fact have a gyroscopic effect.
You wouldn't see the lasers. It doesn't matter if they're tracers or not because you see a moving pellet while a tracer would leave a line strait between the weapon and target. Also, you wouldn't lose a bicep in a medieval sword fight, you would either be decapitated or have your knees clipped.
*WARNING: Excesively Nerdy Answer!* A) Anyone can use a lightsaber. The problem is that lightsabers are only truely usefull to jedi/sith because only force users have the have the reflexes and skills to properly use them.
B) Blaster bolts can be seen because they're not firing lasers, they're firing ionized plasma bolts. The bolts are physical matter, like bullets, and therefore cant move at the speed of light.
You know, listening to your old stuff, I find it ironic you get your live audience opinions from twitter now. At least now you guys get answers like this faster. The answer to end all on the Star Wars tech: Guns - Compressed gas cartridges. The "laser" is the fluorescence of the burning gases as it's propelled through the air. It's plasma as someone mentioned before. Super heated air. Thermal dynamics. I remember mentioning something about looking up science on an earlier podcast. Lightsaber - The same guy who mentioned the guns are plasma, also partially explained the containment case for the lightsabers Put simply, it's an intense power source, focusing a dense beam of unknown frequency light through an unknown mineral crystal compound. They have names for the parts and stuff, but they're all fictional. I heard someone made one a while back, but the batter pack was like a 50 pound pack, and the beams were tiny, and barely cut. As for why only Jedi use lightsabers: Have any of you seen someone riposte a bullet back to it's shooter? Only Jedi with sufficient metachlorian and training to focus the force (allowed to do so at varying strengths based on the metachlorian count, and the learned ability to control it) can perform such feats. Any gun is an awesome weapon of death, but it's limited to blasting things. A lightsaber is a true multi-purpose jedi tool. Solved? Any questions?
I decided to listen to old podcasts while I study, so because I'm not paying as much attention, I kept thinking they were actually getting started with the podcast during the opening song >_<
1. In space no because its a vacuum
but you see laser diflect off dust
which we need to live.
sorry Bernie
