I've been in TOR beta testing for about a year now and have had a blast playing. Can't wait to hear how you guys react to some of the information you hear.
I know. I have no knowledge of TOR, but I can still relate to deciding "I should save all NPCs for added difficulty" or "Fuck NPCs, they're screwed anyway", and the idea of someone being locked in a room with a 2 hour unfinished game for 9 hours a day is hilarious.
I can't believe you guys have been playing so long and didn't tell us! It's worth getting sued and possible jail time as long as its for you fans right?
man its been a years now since i started to listen to the drunk tank, oh im sorry the rooster teeth podcast. anyway, thanks for making my Wednesdays better :D
(Not to beat a 6-year old dead horse, but) Does anyone else find it odd when some ideas for new games are highly praised as innovative when they kinda already existed elsewhere? This just occurred to me when they were discussing recovery out of combat and a classes where environment and battle function play a role into gameplay. Guild Wars has always allowed for full recovery out of combat, provided more mobs aren't aggroed right away, and the warrior class has always relied on adrenaline to use skills, which is obtained by hitting an enemy a few times first. On another topic, Ragnarok online has always had the system where professors and wizards could modify the field for bonuses to their class when playing dps.
Yeah they were also talking about the "companion" thing. I don't know much about this but pretty sure Guild Wars did that as well, and I think Diablo has a companion type thing as well.
Well, from what they said, it sounded like the companion was more like an untargetable npc or pet that helped you out occasionally, whereas Guild Wars had AI controlled party members you could add to replace (or act as more intelligent and loyal) friends. Although GW would have been more awesome if there was actual in-game dialogue from the heroes instead of just at cutscenes.
Thanks Cast & Crew
