I wonder who the beautiful lady Joel has at his house? He seemed genuinely embarrassed by it? It could be Barbra she just moved there and might not have a house? Still a little funny that Joel gets nervous talking about a girl. :) Way to play it Joel.
@ Podcast: I'd argue that The Lord of the Rings was a bigger experience for everyone involved than Harry Potter...and why is Gus so anti-royal? Weird...
Why did they make a point of saying "DLGC" instead of "DLC"? That was weird...and annoying to hear...
WOW old republic can suck it...glados' humor kicks the shit out of any other game in the world and that's just one aspect of the game...terrible game of the year
Star Wars could win the best MMO of 2011, since the only other MMO that released any expansion or launched was Rift.
And SW:TOR is better than Rift.
DLC content should include patches, Hour of Twilight has been the best WoW patch since Daily Quests where launched in Burning Crusade. Raid Finder is better for everyone than even Dungeon Finder, since, casual players (which I am not) could always do dungeons, but they couldn't do raids. Now, they can do raids, even if they are a toned down version.
And that's not even including the amazing new heroics. Best ones they've released since Wrath. They completely trash all of the other ones released in Cataclysm.
But, my experience with ToR's launch, as well as the thousands of people who didn't get CDkeys in their ToR Box, their collectors edition box didn't have a collector's edition code, or, people are having troubles with their key already being used when they input it into the ToR if they ordered it online. Incredible lag logging in, many quests are bugged...
Sure, it just launched, but bugs in the starting zones should have been caught during beta... and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Out of the games of the year, I didn't even really like Skyrim, but it should've won.
Sad. Burnie, Joel, Jack, you three need to play Bastion. It is an AMAZING game. It could have been game of the year. It won best song used in a game at the 2011 VGAs. You need to play the game, all the way through.
Lord of the Rings < Harry Potter? I will fucking end someone. Right. Now.
Oh, and to the podcast crew: announcing that the game that has barely been out is the game of the year? Shit move. I mean, give SW:TOR a month or two (so that people could, you know, actually play it), then you can maybe compare it to the other nominees. Same thing goes for Minecraft: beta this and beta that, you can't judge a finished game by its beta. Neither negatively nor positively.
A very good example of bullshit: Joel: "We haven't really had a chance to explore Old Republic..." (an excellent point, even pre-orderers have been able to play the game for BARELY TWO WEEKS by the time of this post) Jack: "Well, you may not have." Honestly? Fuck you.
The level editor/creator is already out for portal and portal 2 on pc. The tools are actually the same as the ones developers used. It's pretty easy to use
The reason why Gambling is illegal in most places, but not some is because it is made illegal by the STATE, that is why you see casinos on indian reservations, they fall under Federal Law, not state law, same thing with prostitution, legal in the STATE of Nevada, except for Clark county

I think this picture is proof of why Rebecca black won Internet video of the year.
