For my ACT section, we had a story about how the male ground squirrel would lose their testicles between each mating season and have to grow them back each new season. I think that's a bit more of a 'huh' moment. I think I was the only one that found it funny though, or I was the only one that got to it.
The Candiru is also called the Toothpick fish. It goes up inside of you through any hole in your body while you're swimming (by the way, this is mostly in African jungles) and sticks something similar to a "toothpick" into your body. What Jack was talking about first was the Guinea worm, which also goes in through any hole in your body and plants eggs in your body. Those continue to grow. The original worm will, at points, poke itself out of your eye and you have to gently pull it out. If it breaks, it goes back in for a few more weeks and you have to pull it out again. Those both sound like shit. I also think that if the worm breaks, it turns into a second worm, like a hydra.
I think i havent laughed this hard during a podcast in a long time... I almost wet myself. I can just imagine Gus dressed as a wizard behind his fort surrounded by web cams.
Also, if I wanted to get fired, I'd try the same thing.
Still miss the old podcasts with Burnie Gus Geoff Jack and Joel
