Someone may have already commented on this, but the Top Gear episode where Jeremy tested the Tesla was series 12 the show is currently on series 18. Basically, it was quite a while ago. He reviewed the Tesla roadster version 1, and they're now on version 2.5, which is a bit cheaper and supposedly actually goes as far as the Ad says it does (based on reviews, since I can't afford one). They've also added another model, though I know jack squat about it.
TL;DR-Tesla's have improved. Don't be afraid to at least look at them.
The reason why you ought to turn your car off when filling up on gas is because the gaseous fumes are more flammable than the liquid gas. If your tank is near empty and you begin to fill it up it's going to get filled with fumes before it gets filled with gas. Having the engine while this is happening has fire hazard written all over it.
My list of comments (in mostly chronological order): 1. Gav is finally back, AWESOME! 2.The Police and fire buildings are actually connected in my town. 3. I love the fact that Joel drives fast enough past a camera that relativity takes over and it doesn't see him. 4.The reason that a Prius gets so much better mpg than a Smart Car is that a Prius has an electric engine that only starts when the car exceeds a certain speed (around 35 mph, I think) as where the Smart Car just has the small, high efficiency engine that is always running. 5. It is quite dangerous to pump gas with your engine running because there is a slight chance that un-combusted fuel might come down the exhaust and ignite gas vapors from the pump. 6. Also your catalytic converter can reach temperatures of about 750F and the autoignition temp. of gasoline vapors is between 475 and 536F 7. NASCAR fueling tanks create an almost vapor tight seal with the inlet 8. Because Ethanol is an alcohol it should be put out by water 9. Ethanol has twice the BTU output of wood 12000 vs. 6000
Testicular torsion... ouch :-/ I fully understand as I was born with a double testicular torsion! I have had 3 surgeries because of it, twice as a baby and the third when I was in high school. Definitely some of the worst pain in my life so I totally understand. At least it didn't get really bad like mine, Gav!
WoOnly one chevy volt has ever caught fire it was in a crash and disnt catch fire at the scene. It caught fire 3 weeks later. Would aprechiate if you sont give aerican car anifactures a bad name bu not knowing what uour talking about.
This podcast made my week. I find that having a big purse is an excellent security measure. Nobody bothers to rummage through it because it's so messy.
When they were talking about the shower, I had an image of Joel stepping out, perfectly tanned and ripped and looks at the camera as he takes sunglasses off. Then I imagined Bernie steeping out with giant man boobs and lice living in his chest hair.
Always feed the police, ALWAYS. Burnie you need some cruise control or maybe you and Joel could should carpool and have a camera to record it. Lol cats can see molecules! So thats why the Egyptians worshiped them.
