i don't think this will be considered spoilers, and I'm sure theres a comment about it somewhere but about Kai Leng i don't think he is ever mention in the first two games but he a major villain from the mass effect books where he is introduced as the illusive mans right hand man
Btw, the two female guards in the CIC? That's a 'hidden' loading screen. You can see it if you go IN to the CIC and look at the bottom of the door. Before the other side of the door has been loaded the bottom will be dark, once the geometry and lights have been rendered, the lights will reflect and light up the floor (even before the door is opened). When that happens the door will open.

I have to disagree, the reason the Normandy was destroyed is because the Normandy is a Synthetic life form, the Normandy is EDI's main body, the combat EDI's is an extra platform.

From what i understand, the human reaper is a core for the rest of the reaper to be built around, that is why all the reapers look similar, they have different cores. There is not a prothean reaper, the reapers were not able to create one and the remaining protheans were eventually changed into collectors. The reason the reapers are attempting to make a human reaper is because humans are seen as the new dominant race, and have traits that the reapers want.
I'm going to play through the entire Mass Effect series (I've never played any of the games before) just so I can listen to the hour of Mass Effect spoilers. And so I can get a better understanding on why everyone hates the ending of the 3rd one.
I got issues with the spoilercast. You kept saying the series is about choice and I agree. But the ending robbed players of that. The ending was always pretty much the same. Just a different color. I would like to have seen more about them, seeing the differences in what they inflict on the universe.
I've not played mass effect 3 yet, but wanted to listen to the spoiler part of the podcast to hear about the ending.
