I think Burnie said this during one of their pannls, Geoff is usually bussy with achievemen hunter stuff during the time that the podcast is being recorded.
I miss Geoff too. I could do without jack I am tired of hearing his voice. Don't get me wrong he has a great announcer's voice just saying if jack can find the time can't Geoff spare us 10 minutes?
I hate to be the one, but I feel like I have to defend Gavin.. or at least defend him when he's right. Water isn't actually unique in the fact that it expands when it freezes.. Silicon for instance, Gallium, Bismuth, Antimony and several others... But yeah, Gavin is definitely not what all we Brits are like -.-'
Love the podcast though, only reason I wanted to come ontline today :D
Also, some forms of ice do sink in water, they're called amorphous ice. Someone needs to invent a way to talk back during the podcast, I start yelling at my stereo when they make fun of Gavin and he's actually right... Calendar!
Hydrogen bonding between water molecules stretch out the molecules to form a more open lattice structure, giving H2O its unusual property of being less dense when solid. Hydrogen bonding also causes water to have a higher boiling point than expected for a molecule held together by weak covalent bond...
