So annoying! Went directly to the comments to make sure it wasn't just me... That wasn't there on the live version.. Sounds like someone was listening to music while editing the pod cast again... Lindsay
it happened to me a few different times :/ not sure if it had something to do with it loading or not, but when I reloaded the parts with the music it wasn't there
I was searching frantically for pop ups add ons and viruses and went to all my tabs until I paused the podcast and had that realization that it was the podcast.
Canada was kanata or whatever and it meant land. We asked the natives what they called this place (signals the land) so they said the land. Thanksgiving in Canada is giving thanks mostly for surviving the journey to the new continent. It dates back before american thanksgiving so you guys technically stole it from us.
have mixed feeling about all the commercials through the podcast. not the sponsorship stuff but the one before the video began and the ads that would randomly pop up
I had to pause the video... Guys after 6 years working in night clubs I can tell you that waving money is the worst thing you can do. If anyone does that I tell them to stop and don't' serve them for at least 2 more people even if they where next.
If you want to get served wait politely or do something to make yourself stand out, sounds stupid but wearing something interesting or wearing a bright colour always used to draw my attention. And looking happy usually helps too.
I can't speak for Americans but if you ask any English bartender I know they would agree with me. Tips work well too, I always rememeber the people who tip me :p

@RegularJohn So at any "good" bar you ignore people in line if they don't know your rules? So if a newcomer screws up once you skip them and then get back to them eventually? How is this good service? Listen as long as someone is not berating you or yelling at you then you follow the line of service. All I have to take is your word that you work at good English Bars, where I am just speaking to human decency.
I would never skip over someone I could tell was new to the bar. I would serve them in line and explain to them that they should be more polite next time or I may skip over them. You never want your customers to feel they are being treated unfairly. If you don't explain it to them and just skip over people then people leave and don't want to come back. It's an absurd standard to have. Sure as the server you may have the power to decide who gets what when, but that does not mean you should use it so liberally. The service industry is about service, and skipping over people who make a blunder is not service. Especially since your business is in liquor, I would imagine some of those people would be drunk and tend to be a bit brusque because of what you served them. Not everyone is going to be polite when they are drunk.
But anyway it's the internet, all arguments are pointless including yours.
You know you could have shorted your response to one sentence. I was told that customers are always right, so that is what I believe.
If that's how you feel fair enough, but as I said before you don't know what the standards are over here so you can't comment on what's right and wrong here. I never said you're way was wrong just said it wouldn't go down well here. As for your little human decency line, we are talking about serving someone a drink, this is not a basic human right. Decency doesn't even come into it. If you want to try argue that it does then they are infringing on my rights as a human, waving money at my makes me feel degraded like some kind of drink monkey just there for their pleasure. I find waving money just as annoying as aggression or any other kind of rude behaviour. That's the thing your not getting. If I find it annoying and I explain that the them they should learn and skipping over them is a way to get my point across if you think it's too harsh then that's fine but you can't tell me I'm wrong. It's opinion not fact.
And finally no sensible debate is pointless, its one of the best parts of the internet. Discussing subjects you are passionate about and arguing your side even if you know you wont change the other guys mind, that's fun.
I watched the live stream last night but it play for a few minutes and buffer for a few minutes :|
