Now Launching: The New Profile

I'm very excited to announce the arrival of the New Profile. What is the "New Profile" I hear you ask? Well, we've been asking our awesome Sponsors to test it out for the past few weeks, and we're now beginning the rollout process to everyone.

It's an overhaul of the most used part of our site; the community. Not much has changed to the profile in its seven-year lifespan; so we've rewritten it from the ground up. Everything in your profile is now contextualised under a persistent header which allows your space in the community to really shine. Someone may come to your journal entry and suddenly find themselves clicking around the rest of your profile to see what else you've been up to. We also have a great new layout for the watchlist that sorts the newest posts to the top, allowing you to rapidly engage in conversations in forum threads, comments, anything. We hope you love it. We're rolling it out incrementally to users, so you'll get invited very soon (or become a sponsor to get it right now!). When you're in you'll see a prompt at the top of your homepage to upgrade. Don't worry, you can hop in and out of the new and old profiles. We'd love to hear your thoughts, so we've got a hidden forum set-up for feedback.

We've also got something very cool for when you're browsing the site away from your profile, notifications! If you receive an alert we'll pop up a message letting you know to check it out.

This exciting project started as long as 10 months ago with a simple mockup, a small idea that met many changes and challenges along the way to execution. We wanted to create something that would connect the community together and encourage higher participation and discovery. The difference between the two versions is like night and day, and we think it rocks. Go forth, community. Let us know what you think.

Nice to know this site's community doesn't flip out with every change. Good job roosterteeth, you accomplished an amazing feat.

I really like the idea of notifications. It saves me from refreshing my profile seven times a minute. smiley8.gif

While I didn't really care for the new layout at first, it has grown on me and I now like it more than the old version.

Hi Ben, I'm really liking the new profile thing. Keep up the great work. By the way, can you add me as an RT friend?
    P.S. How's England?
