(end of chapter 4)
The liquid hit her lips and Seven's face puckered, she really didn't want to drink it, not only because it meant she would be taking it away from Trace in case he needed it later, but it really was too sour for her taste buds. Seven looked up at Trace and opened her mouth a little more for the liquid, but she would drink it since Trace asked and for no other reason. She only managed to drink about half of it before she started coughing and puckering her face up again.
Trace paused and held it back for a moment and smiled, "Yeah, I know, I can barely stand the stuff too but please try to finish it. I know it will help you." He said after she finished swallowing and gave her a little bit before he placed it back to her lips and waited for her to drink the rest. Trace smiled sweetly as he looked down at her.
Seven took a deep breath before trying to swallow the rest of the potion, hacking as she finished. She let out a light whimper and stuck her tongue out, as though she were trying to air it out to get rid of the taste.
Trace smiled and gave a light chuckle, "Yeah, I was like that the first time had one." He said as he discarded the empty bottle and cuddled up with her again, "You should start feeling a little better shortly. Thank you for drinking the whole bottle, I'll give you a reward later." He said sweetly to her as he playfully poked her nose.
Seven laid there next to Trace and her nose and ears twitched, finding it odd that she would be rewarded for doing something that was asked of her. Seven closed her eyes for a moment before she opened them and sat back up. She looked around at the others, why wasn't she exhausted anymore? Everyone else was nearly asleep, yet she didn't feel tired at all.
Trace smiled as he looked at her sitting up, "Looks like the potion worked then but you should kept resting while your body heals." He stated and looked out as the first sun had set and the second sun was setting making the air a little cooler. Trace then leaned his head back and closed his eyes, "Besides, we have wait a whole day before we get to the ship." He said then shortly he fell asleep. The stress of worrying had caught up to him.
Seven looked down at Trace and nodded, laying back down next to Trace, slowly inching her way next to him as he slept. She lifted her arm and hesitated for a moment before gently laying it over his chest after she was sure he was asleep, laying her head on his shoulder.
