For anyone who may not know the Vaults were shelters from nuclear bombs. They were produced by Vault-Tec. Now there were around 17 or so control vaults (I think) that functioned exactly as expected but most of the total 200 or so created had some kind of experiment associated. For instance Vault-Tec Vault No, 11 was designed to test human will, upon entering the vault the residents were informed that they were to provide a human sacrifice once a year under the threat that, should they fail to do so, the vault computer would kill everyone in the vault. In actual fact, if the sacrifice was refused the vault computer would inform them that they would not be killed, that they were a shining example to humanity and that the vault door was now open and they could come and go as they pleased. This horrifying trend continues in different manners with different tests until we get to Vault-Tec Vault No. 69 which contained only 1000 residents. 1 man and 999 women. Good luck to him...
