Your brother got an A in Diff Eq? Damn. That's pretty impressive. With that help you could probably get through math here but you'd be calling him a lot... lol It's just that the professors here expect that you already know calculus backwards, forwards, underwater with a hangover, while getting your head beaten with a stick. Some prof's are really cool about it, but the head of the math department is a fucking cuntbag spawn of Satan and was his favorite kid or something and she grades random calc tests. And all of the math exams are departmental and on Friday nights. And the math finals are always on Saturdays. It's all around a bad deal IMO. I got off easy with just business calc which is really just calc lite.
If you like something, you like it. If you're passionate about it, then it's worth doing even if you're not perfect at it. And most of UTA isn't very competitive. It's more about letting you be you, than pitting you against one another.
UTA has a really really good engineering college and by the time you get here, the new engineering building would be finished. The only thing is, get ALL math out of the way over summers at DCCC or TCC. UTA has a terrible math department and engineer majors have to take calculus 1-3 and then differential equations which is calc 4 on massive steroids. Seriously, unless you're a math genius and already know calc backwards and forwards don't take calculus here. Any math that before that, college algebra and the like, are easy peasy here and I can help you with that if you need to take it and need help.
YupYup. You can come to the parties and stuff too. We don't throw that many anymore except for things like people's birthdays and holidays, but when we do it's pretty massive... I'm not really a fan but I live here so I don't really get a choice and I usually just end up chilling outside with a smaller group of my close friends from Garland.
Dell is shit. And it's not all HP laptop's it's mainly the dv6000 series. But in all honesty, Dell is an utter waste of money just like the Intel processors they love to use. I'd rather have an HP where the screen might go out eventually, but really, I'll be replacing any laptop after almost three years anyway. I had a good run with my first lappy Nikolai. But now, I need another one. He only had 20 more gigs of hd space anyway. lol
