Sometimes I hate paperworkSo I'm applying for a job. It's a fairly awesome job. It's not the best paying job in the universe, but it has full benefits and paid vacation, which more than make up for the pay. Benefits are awesome, and it's full time.
But they have to do a full background check. Which I don't really care that much about, I haven't done anything bad that will show up. No big deal. Except it's a Canadian company doing the check. Which means lots and lots and lots of paperwork.

And I live in a small town in Wyoming. Some of my paperwork simply doesn't exist. Take for example the many years I worked in a local game store. I practically ran the store for quite a few of those years. But, as it's a small town in Wyoming, everyone knew that I worked under the counter. Hell, the store didn't even properly and legally exist for quite a while. The IRS is still on the former owner for that.
But now said Canadian company wants my W-2s from that time. I'm going to call them and hopefully try to explain that entire thing, but I don't see that going well. Uh-oh. I've given them the phone number of the former owner, I'm hoping that helps. I really want this job.
Of course, now I also have to find my W-2 from last year as well. That's going to be a pain the behind. I really need to organize my paperwork better. And my current boss? Yeah, telling him I need my old W-2 is probably going to end with him asking what a W-2 is in the first place.
