RP MathAs some of you may know, I founded and administrate the Green Lantern RP Group. What you might not know is that that's a lot of work.
Because I decided to use multiple franchises in it (Combining the DC Universe, Dragon Ball Z, Star Trek, Gurren Lagann, Sonic the Hedgehog, etc. into a single Universe), I have the unique task of taking mechanics of unrelated universes and using some very generous artistic liberties to make sure they all work together. As well, I have to make the decision of whether certain characters are OP.
In my RP, you can choose from a list of species, being full-blooded of one or a hybrid of two. Two of the choices on that list are Saiyan (Dragon Ball Z) and Kryptonia...
Two of the choices on that list are Saiyan (Dragon Ball Z) and Kryptonian (Superman).
Now, here comes the fun part.
By combining the mechanics of both universes, I assume, that Kryptonian abilities work by multiplying one's power level by a certain amount, depending on the type of star (Light from a Blue Star would make them much more powerful than light from a Yellow Star), and a Half-Kryptonian's power level would be multiplied by half the amount of a full-blooded one.
At this point, I considered the possibility of a Saiyan/Krypton
ian Hybrid.
Now then, Math Time.
Let's assume that the light of a Yellow Star multiplies a full-blooded Kryptonian's power level by 100, and the light of a Blue Star by 1,000.
In this, Full-blooded Kryptonian power level = K, base power level = p, Yellow Starlight = Y, and Blue Starlight = B. (Y = 100, B = 1000). Starlight = s
K = p*s
If s = Y, K = p*100
If s = B, K = p*1000
Given this, we can assume the power level multiplication of a half=Kryptonia
n by dividing the value of s by 2. Half-blooded Kryptonian power level = k
k = p(s/2)
If s = Y, k = p(100/2) = p(50)
If s = B, k = p(1000/2) = p(500)
Now, according to DBZ, the average human power level is 5, which I will also assume is the average power level of a depowered Kryptonian for the sake of convenience. The average power level of a low-class saiyan warrior like Raditz is in between, let's say 1,000 and 3,000.
So, assume we have a Saiyan/Krypton
ian hybrid with a max power level of 1,000. Under the light of a Yellow Star, that jumps to 50,000. Under a Blue Star, that becomes 500,000.
Based on the start of DBZ, I'm going to assume that the minimum power level required to destroy a planet is 10,000. Also, for those big DBZ nerds, Goku's max power level when he fought Captain Ginyu was 180,000.
If it's not sinking in yet, how' bout this: Let's pretend that Goku was a Saiyan/Human Hybrid, who, while having full access to his saiyan abilities, his Kryptonian powers laid dormant. Let's now fast forward to when he first became a Super Saiyan fighting Frieza, those Kryptonian powers awakened, and he was under the light of a Yellow Star.
At that point in the show, Goku's power level was 150 million.
Under the light of our hypothetical Yellow Star, that jumps to 7,500 million, or 7.5 billion.
If my bases are correct, I assume the absolute earliest power level hit 1 billion in the original show was with SSJ2 Gohan during the Cell Games Saga.
Still not doing it? Well, let's assume that, in order to go SSJ3 for even an instant, one needs double the power of a beginner SSJ2, 2 billion. To use it for five minutes or so requires a power level of at least 3 billion. Based on this, I will now assume that Goku, by the end of Dragon Ball Z, had a maximum power level in the neighborhood of 4 billion.
Now pretend that power level is the same for our Saiyan/Krypton
ian Goku under the light of a Red Star.
The result, pure and simply, is a Goku that, under the light of a Blue Star, could destroy the universe by looking at it the wrong way.
Just something I wanted to share!
