Quercus

Standing there…
He winks at me,
He smiles through rain soaked skin
Worn smooth by the ages.

Standing there…
He watches me through oaken eyes.
He stands there,
Whispering dark secrets.

Standing there…
He has seen more than any man has seen,
He is older than any man has been
Whispering the wisdom of the trees.

Standing there…
He looks at me,
He smiles at me,
Whispers to me of the forgotten past.

Standing there…
He stands amongst the twisting and twirling,
He is a rock,
He is the forest.
