Season 10 ReviewSo I've finally had time to catch up with RvB. Now at first, I really didn't like it. All cool (but still, well, generic action movie?) fight scenes, and a few classic Blood Gulch Crew moments in between. I enjoy RvB for the BGC moments, not for fight scenes, which RvB has never been about until recently. So the first few episodes I really found tedious and didn't enjoy much at all. The later episodes moved away from Freelancer fighting and more towards Freelancer background. Now that in itself is incredibly interesting, and because there was more focus on that (interlinking with the present actions of Carolina and the Blood Gulch Crew), the fight scenes became more enjoyable. I got a better sense of the characters. At the start of the season, I didn't give a damn about any of them, even the ones I recognised. By the end of it, my heart was going out to Carolina and I felt gutted over York's death all over again.
So in short, slow beginning, but as it goes on gets richer and more emotionally intense. Broken up with sporadic classic RvB humour.
Ahhh, it's good to be back.
