UpdateIt's been almost a year since I last signed on to this site. I'm still around and plan to be on more this year. I've settled in to my permanent home 40 minutes North of my old crappy apartment. I've been working as a public safety officer at a small college for a year now and I'm happy here. Much less stress than my old job.
This past year has been a good one for me, even with some of the tougher times. So a quick recap:
Happily working at a steady career that has given me many new experiences and I'm enjoying living in a smaller city like Albany. I'm still not far from most of my family so visiting them is easy.
However, there have been some tough times. Last year was the first birthday and Christmas I spent without my grandfather there. I knew the day was coming when it would be time for the Marine I had been proud to call "grandpa" for 34 years to finally rest, but it did not make the news easier to take. I still miss him.
A happier moment was to welcome a new friend into my home. I adopted Arya from a local shelter at 4 months and she has been a good companion and roommate.
Last, I found a new truck to get me around town I could afford. It's a good Chevy and my pup sure loves to cruise around in it.
Overall 2014 was a good year. Here's hoping 2015 is a good year for all of us. My thoughts are with Monty's family and the RT crew for good news of his swift recovery.
