Earth-Dyed Screamers and Other Such Non-

      sense

Other such nonsense as in character limits in journal titles.

Yet again I've entered into that phase of my life where, though I continue to call myself a "writer" amongst peers and the fashionable debutantes of the local salons, I rarely write anything at all. It is an unfortunate phenomenon afflicting even the most talented of writers such as Michael Chabon as he describes in his book Maps and Legends, and thus I may now pronounce myself his intellectual and artistic equal without feeling like an egotistical jerkoff. Of course, I don't blame my lack of literary craft on myself but university, friends, the internet, and the world at large. Dammit, world, can't you stop being interesting for at least two ours out of the day so I can get some damn work done? Is it so much to ask? Is the inconvenience of billions of people, government institutions, police, businesses and doctors so much to ask? I think not. You may now wallow in your shame.

Currently I have the entire plot for a story called "Earth-Dyed Screamers" in my head but have yet to focus long enough to get anything more than the (admittedly brilliant) title committed to paper.

My feeble attempt at a comedic blog has failed miserably due, as well, to my lack of commitment along with a lack of ideas. But once again, I must blame the world for this, both for its lack of interest and for exhausting its wealth of ideas on lesser authors. Dammit, James Joyce, I don't care if you did die forty years before I was born, I had the idea for Finnegans Wake first even if my only piece of evidence is a xeroxed copy of the novel with your name blackened out and mine handwritten above it, now admit to your thievery so we can both move on with our lives (well, my life will move on, at least -- maybe I'll stop sending letter bombs to the inheritors of your estate in exchange...maybe...George does owe me fifty dollars still).

As for why I haven't been active too much lately, my attention has been stolen by the SGU message boards and, hell, nothing much has been going on in the RT forums anyway. Dammit, the rest of the internet manages to be interesting. What's your problem? I suggest lobbying your local government for greater amounts of interest to be administered in several ounces of interlets once per month. Then I may return and grace you all with my infinite wisdom (and yes, I know I'm being overly humble here but, hey, that's just me).

That's all I have to say for now. See you guys down the tubes.

I've Been Inactive for Too Long

I haven't been active at all in the past couple weeks and it has become a chore to check on updates I'm not likely to comment on. My presence here is essentially nonexistent, then. So, should I stay or should I go?

(Yes, I've pulled these shenanigans before but this time I mean it.)

      The Most Useless Email Ever

Be A Roadie For A Day For Thrice & Circa Survive!

Ever wonder what it takes to be a roadie? You may get the chance to find out....

Thrice and Circa Survive are on tour now! Live Nation, MacBeth and PureVolume.com want to give you and one of your friends a chance to fly out to San Francisco, hang with both bands and earn your meals.

Yes, it's the ultimate roadie experience! Enter now for your chance to win!

One lucky grand prize winner and a friend will be flown out to the Thrice / Circa Survive show in San Francisco and be put to the test!

After you work for your meal, you'll hang out backstage and chow down with the band and crew, then watch the show from the side of the stage.

We want you to remember your experience, so we're throwing in a Flip hand-held video camera. When you're done digitizing your day, Macbeth will professionally edit your video. Clips will then be shown on the bands' website, as well as purevolume.com and the MacbethFootwear.com. Now that's rock star material!

And if that weren't enough, you will also receive an autographed roadie case, stuffed with Macbeth shoes and apparel. Not too bad for one day's worth of work!

Yes, not only do you get to do the patronizingly menial grunt work they set aside for you to do (as if they'd let you handle any of the actual equipment or assist in stage preparation), you'll get to hang out with not one but two shitty bands and listen to their shitty music. God, I can't wait to enter.

      >_<

I stepped on a shard of glass in the middle of the night. It ended up lodged inside of my foot, unbeknownst to me until after I'd walked/limped more than half a mile around campus.

I had it removed a few hours ago and my foot is still numb from the anesthetic the doctor gave me. What a horrible way to begin exam weeks.

Note that I'm not the only writer. And quite frankly, I'd love it if you discussed it there.

Plus, we need a more right-wing writer (as we intend to have as many perspectives as we can get), and I'd invite you to write there, if you would like to. There's no obligation, just post when you want and be prepared to argue points. If you're interested, all I need is your email. If not, it doesn't really matter.

It's the best time for humor. If one can't find it in them to laugh about small things during a time like this, then one needs to reevaluate a little, in my opinion.

Overrated, right? I've never played it and it's too late to get it now since soon people will be playing something else. Oh, and I don't spend money so haphazardly on series' I'm not very impressed with, but I digress...
