    • Today is my birthday, but that's not important.

      Antharwn RTWorld Admin

Today is my birthday. You don't have to get me anything, you don't even have to wish me a happy birthday if you don't want to! :)
But, if you do feel like doing something I encourage you to be a little kinder to everyone today. Love a little deeper, stare at your close friends, significant other, children or pets a little longer, laugh a little louder, be a little more vulnerable, and remember to enjoy life just a little bit more.
If you are so moved that you think you'd like to improve the world around you, I have a few suggestions.
      1. The Lofte Community Theatre: https://www.lofte.org/ This is my family's theater. I grew up here. And like many small arts organizations they're struggling. You can click the donate button on the right side of the page (which takes you to another website) scroll down under "Designated Expendable Funds," find "Lofte Community Theatre Fund," and enter as much there as you like. Then click submit to move to the next step.
      2. Planned Parenthood - Find your LOCAL Planned Parenthood, and donate to them (it's the specific giving tab after clicking the donate link on their website). https://www.plannedparenthood.org/

      3. Moms Demand Action - For gun sense in America: https://momsdemandaction.org/

      4. Your local Humane Society, or pet shelter.  - You can probably look up this one on your own. Or, you can probably go to their website and see what supplies they need, pick them up and deliver them, if you're feeling really in the mood.

Spread love not hate. Create art, and make peace, not war. Speak kindly to yourself. Do to others as you'd like them to do to you. Have a good weekend.

    • Departing as admins of RTNY

      Antharwn RTWorld Admin

It's with mixed feelings that Amaury and I announced our resignation from the Admin team of RTNY. Amaury finished up his time as an admin after Extra Life last year (2018 now) and I officially stepped down as of January 1st 2019

First, we want to thank the community not only for joining the group, but for giving us a group to join. We 100% acknowledge that without you there would be no us, and, as we are planning our wedding, RTNY certainly has had an impact on our lives.

We recognize that we were not the perfect admins. We made it our goal to do what we thought was best for the group as much as possible from hosting movie and game nights to moderating the discord, and listening to feedback. We know that we may not have gotten along with everyone, but we hope that it didn't turn you off of the group.

We are leaving the group in the hands of it's current admins, Garrett, Chas, Priscille, Devin, and Raph. They are looking forward to 2019 with big plans, and I hope that they'll continue to do you proud.

Last, but by no means least, we want to mention that this will not end our involvement in the Rooster Teeth community. I am going to continue to lead the content team for the RT World community (which is a group of admins from community groups all around the world), and will continue to be an admin of that group. Amaury is going to be an admin mentor within the same group to help other groups who need assistance, ideas, or guidance. You'll still see us around, we'll continue to be at RTX every year, and in the RTNY discord from time to time.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us, but know, if they're in regards to RTNY we likely aren't going to be the best person to help you any longer.

Again, thank you for many great years together. We look forward to being members of RTNY, we continue to love you all, and wish you a very happy new year.

      All the best,
      Sam and Amaury (@optimus2020)

    • 2019, let's go!

      Antharwn RTWorld Admin

I made it through the holidays! I hope you did too. :)
Here's my plans for the year:

      * Start my blog back up where I donate to a different cause every month. I will probably still research them, but not as hard core as I had in the past. I like learning about the organizations I'm donating too, but my focus was in the wrong place last time. So you'll start to see those come back.
      * Start a series on my favorite apps and why. I've gotten quite a collection on both android (tablet) and my phone (iphone). And I'd like to share the stuff that I've got and encourage others to investigate and see if it would be useful for them too!
      * Wake up before I'm supposed to start working and take some time in the morning to leisurely get ready and do some self care, like journaling, listening to podcats, and maybe even eat breakfast before work!
      * Continue on my Noom journey (more about that in my favorite apps series)
      * Plan a wedding.

Do you have any organizations or nonprofits that you like to donate to, if so, what are they? Do you have any apps that you love, if so, what are they? Do you have tips for waking up on time? How about any prompts for journaling, because I do not plan to just write about my day, I want a topic to journal on. What are some of your favorite recipes? What are your thoughts on weddings, have you planned one before, do you have tips, or what was the coolest thing you ever saw at a wedding? Talk to me people, and let's do 2019 up right!

    • RTX 2018 Wrap Up Post

      Antharwn RTWorld Admin

Wow that was quite the week. So much happened. For starters leading up to RTX this year, RTWorld did a bunch of "tips" posts, and I got to sort of spearhead that project. It was a lot of fun, and I actually learned a lot myself. If you haven't read them but wanna get a head start on next year (or London!) check them out here.

I was a guardian this year and was the assistant room manager of the Community panel room. It was so great to see so many community projects! Everyone was so passionate about what they were there to talk about. I didn't get to see all of the panels in the room like I hoped, but I plan to go back and rewatch them on Mixer... you can absolutely expect more from me on that.

This year Amaury and I got sidequest badges. i don't think I've ever had so much fun at after hours events. The Charity Gala was beyond wonderful, the Barlypics were so much better than I had originally anticipated and the Post RTX Party Lounge was just as chill and happy as I had hoped. I 100% plan to do it again next year.

We stayed in a bit of a different location this year. I found the place on trivago and booked it through like... booking.com or something, but it was a fully apartment. And man was it worth it. Full kitchen, fantastic balcony and the couch pulled out to a bed for Tasha (aka @dizzyblinker ) The place was called "Locale," so I'm hoping we can do that again next year. Probably the same location too as 2nd and Lavaca wasn't a bad place to be (close enough but still far enough away)

And last, but by no means least, was our community summit. While I can't talk about everything, what I can say is that it is important to establish a strong foundation before you build up and out and add in new things. Patience is a virtue. And things will get better, just hang on, and don't give up hope.

More exciting things are going to be happening all over the place, and I can't wait to see what happens next with this community! I love you all, keep bein' awesome!

    • So many communities packed into 25 hours!

      Antharwn RTWorld Admin

This year, as Rooster Teeth hosted multiple communities on the official Extra Life Game Day. I personally made a goal to see at least some of every stream. I missed 1 as I was hosting an RT Radio set, but their admin was happy to fill me in on what I missed! Here is a short description of what happened during each "Hour of Power" this year.

      1. RoosterSpeak started us off with some fantastic Halo custom games. One of their featured maps was Rainbow Road and they had full or almost full games with the community the entire time.

      2. Beta Cats, and LGBTQ+ based in Austin, TX came with some GTAV custom games and all the members were in GTA Fake AH crew cosplay.

      3. Sour Grapes a gamer and prop builder group, were next and they played a VERY heavily modded version of Skyrim with over 200 mods active, including one that lets you use crescent rose and ride Godzilla.

      4. RT New Jersey played Golf with your friends and hit their $250 goal in the first 20 minutes of their power hour. And then had to come up with all new stretch goals.

      5. RT St.Louis and BIGBYTE playing Pokemon White 2. On top of receiving donations, they were also selling shirts!

      6. Constantly Calibrating & Stream Arizona teamed up and did a challenge competition where the losers got to drink hot sauce! These challenges produced many humorous artistic interpretations of Gavin, Michael, Sonic, and more.

      7. RT Houston played Duck Game and Jackbox Party Pack 4's Fibbage 3. They also reached a few stretch goals including drunk Mario Kart. Their power hour ended with members chugging bottles of Iced Tea.

      8. RWBY Nation played some GTA games with as many community members as they could fit into one game! Their snipers vs stunters was especially fantastic.

      9. RT New Vancouver played Quiplash and Fibbage and were bested by their audience at every match! Discussions on stream included Poutine and Canadian Healthcare.

      10. Rooster Buckeyes had 6 PC's with 6 viewpoints of Killing Floor and switching was done live and on the fly as different members joined each game. Quite the impressive setup.

      11. Rhode Island Rooster Teeth Community created paper Water Lillies in honor and memory of Monty Oum. One of their members also mentioned if you can't donate money, you can always donate blood!

      12. The Cartographers Guild played a Trauma Center game where each person on the stream read the lines for the different characters in the game, complete with character voices. And they drank a bunch of nasty coffee drinks!

      13. G1 Gamedays took the time to custom create RT Personalities in WWE 2K17. Including Jack Patillo, James Angel, Barbara Dunkleman, and Jeaune Arc. So many muscles.

      14. RT Nova Scoita was speed running Super Mario World while also executing stretch goals, specifically one where a member of the group was getting their head shaved.

      15. RT Austin / Side Quest played Gangbeasts. It was great to see Rick and Morty fighting pandas, luchadors and dinosaurs! Followed closely there after by RT's own Battlesloths!

      16. RT Michigan played some Overwatch custom games with crazy modifications including continuous Doomfist punching and low gravity, as they discussed their favorite RT shows, characters, and other questions from the chat.

      17. RT Oklahoma was single-handedly handled by Dustin. He played Bracketeering from the new Jackbox pack and the group participating decided that everyone should eat Reese's Puffs forever and we should all live in the Star Wars universe for 10 years.

      18. RT Ontario played Halo Reach while having their body's waxed! Each $20 donation to an individual equaled 1 wax strip on their leg. They raised over $4,000! They also discussed their personal connections to their local hospital.

      19. RTUK & Argentstreams. While others were working into the night, RTUK was on hour 23 of their 24 hour live stream. They played cup head while they talked to their chats and discussed Extra Life tattoos.

      20. RT NorCal spent their 2 Spooky hour playing PT, but, every time one of them got scared they did a shot of hot sauce. Talk about staying awake! #2spooky

21: RoosterTeethDFW had their "first annual games," where it was Blue vs Red vs Yellow. Depending on how well a team did in games like Starwhal and Ultimate Chicken Horse determined what ingredients went into their smoothie.

      22. RTNY played what they called the Unopocalypse where they played Uno, had Achievement Hunter rules enabled, and, for all special cards (like Wilds, 0's, Skips and 7's) they had different physical requirements. Like push-ups, squats, and jazz hands!

      23. RT Georgia, with 2 different cams set up in 2 different locations, played Keep Talking and Nobody explodes! "Spicy Sunrise" the name of a sassy character performed by a member dressed as an older lady, made an appearance!

      24. RWBY Cosplayers of South East Florida played RWBY grim eclipse! As they played they discussed many things related to rooster teeth and cosplay, as well as the the SNES.

      25. RT Florida closed it out. By the time the stream got to them, one of their members was in the process of being duct taped to a board, one was a TP mummy, and another was ranting about weapons degradation. But it was all #forthekids

It was so much fun to see what each group had to offer, how they were staying awake, and what fun challenges they came up with. If you weren't able to tune in, I highly recommend that you give it a try next year!

in Forums > RTNY MVP | Follow this topic

      Antharwn RTWorld Admin

Greetings RTNYers! It is my pleasure to announce the new program being brought to you by RTNY: MVPs!

      Or Most Valuable Person

I'm sure you already have questions, so let's start from the top.

      What makes an RTNY MVP?

      1. You are a positive contributor to the community, and make an effort to be involved.

      2. You have been active in the community meaning you have done at least one of the following in the last month (The more the better!)

         A. Participated in Game Nights,

         B. Attended game nights where you watched and participated in the chat,

         C. Attended live meetups

         D. Came to movie nights and participated in the chat

         E. Been active on the RTNY Facebook page

         F. Actively posting on the RTNY Rooster Teeth page

      3. You are a member on the RTNY Community page on Roosterteeth.com

      What are other rules/ qualifications?

      1. You do not have to live in New York State

      2. You can only win one time per calendar year.

      3. Any member is eligible, including RTNY admins. (Note that if an admin is nominated for MVP they will not take part in choosing that month's winner. Also, any RTNY admin who nominates another user will not take part in choosing that month's winner)

      4. You can be nominated up to 12 times in a year, but can only win once.

      5. Nominations go from the 1st through the last day of the month. For example, any nominations made in January will be qualified to be the winner of MVP for February.

Okay, so how do I win?

To be in the running for MVP someone else must nominate you. (If you want to ask someone else to nominate you... I mean... that's you) If you'd like to check out the nomination form, here is a link

And why do I want to be member of the month?

      You get stuff!

      1. You'll get a shout out on the RTNY Twitter

      2. You'll get to choose 1 game night a month (admin approval pending). The only day not available for selection is the 1st Thursday of the month.

      3. You'll get to choose something from our "RTNY Grabbag" which is an assortment of prizes provided by the RTNY admins. More information on that is coming soon.

      4. A $10 Gift card to the RT Store (or any online store of your choice)

...and maybe some other special surprises along the way.  wink

      Okay, that's everything!

      Wait! I have more questions!

It's okay! Post 'em below and we'll be sure to answer them (and fill in the answers here on this post to help give more details!)

      TL;DR?

To nominate someone for mvp go to this form

If you get chosen as MVP you get stuff.

      Have questions? Post 'em below!

      Antharwn RTWorld Admin

I cannot complain about my situation... the only thing I would maybe change is dial down the stress a little. I can't sleep. But I don't know if it's because I'm excited, or stressed, or scared, or D) All of the Above.

I'm so ready to pick up and move everything, but I'm still working out the logistics of what that really means. Getting the last few details in order is proving to be more of a challenge than originally anticipated. Mostly because... well I don't know mostly why...

I'm so excited about RTNY's Rooster Race this weekend! I think it's going to be so much fun. The planning for that has been intense, but if everyone plays their part, it should be an anniversary meet up that we won't soon forget. It's going to be the last meetup that we can go to for a while however, since our relocation to TX. We won't be able to just walk down the block to hang out with friends, or find a weekend and go into the city anymore. Any visits will need to be planned and thought out. I really hope we get some shiny new faces into the RTNY group before we head out, and get to say goodbye to some old friends too.

That being said, once we move, the year doesn't stop. We are constantly going here or there or the other place for weddings, conferences, conventions, family gatherings... lots of happy things, but it's going to be constant. I still think a part of me will miss the city, but a bigger part of me might be too distracted to notice for a while.

I'll keep you all posted on how the relocation goes. Who knows, maybe I'll even start posting these regularly in a series of information that I wanna share with my friends and followers? (Do I have those?) Anyone have something they wanna talk about? Want to know my process for how we picked up and moved from NYC to Austin? Wanna hear about my cosplays? Idk... :)

I love you all. <3 Stay cool, see you later allegators!

      RTNY: Rules & Regulations

These rules are subject to change at any time. Any changes will be fully disclosed to all members on the RTNY RT page. They go into effect as of 3/17/2016.

By requesting to be a member of the RTNY facebook page, by participating in the RTNY Community Group Me chat, or by joining the RTNY Community page on Roosterteeth.com you are signifying that you will agree to follow these rules. As a member of the RTNY community, and by attending the streams and events, you agree to follow our code of conduct.

      The Basic Code of Conduct

      1. Be respectful of fellow members
      2. Don’t be an asshole
      3. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
      4. Avoid the excessive usage of derogatory language.
      5. Do not tarnish the community name by doing something stupid.
      6. Physical violence will not be tolerated.
      7. Don’t feed the trolls. Don’t be a troll
      8. Please do not Spam the group.
      9. Please do not post any pictures and/or gifs that could be deemed “Not Safe For Work.”
      10. Be considerate if someone asks you to stop doing something.
      11. Please avoid the discussion of sensitive topics in a public space.
      12. Issues with other members should not be public ordeals.
      13. It is important that ALL of our community members feel comfortable.

For the basic procedure on dissolving a conflict with another member you can look at RTNY’s policy here.

You can always find official information first and foremost on the RTNY page on Roosterteeth.com. If there are any RTNY sponsored events coming up they will be posted there before anywhere else. We do our best to post info everywhere, but sometimes may miss a location or two. As such any event announced elsewhere or being promoted on another one of our pages may not necessarily be an RTNY sponsored event, which does not directly hold RTNY or it’s admins responsible for said events, and as such these rules may not necessarily be in effect.

Any person who does not follow these Rules will receive a serious talk from the admins and may potentially be banned from the group and all it's events, depending on the severity of the conflict and determined at the discretion of the administrators. The person who is being banned will be informed as to why they are no longer a member of this community. Disclosure to the RTNY community will follow said removal.

If your safety is ever in question, or if you are concerned for your well being while in the group, please contact an admin and alert them to the situation. Be aware they may share this information with the other administrators in the group.

    • Sixth Post (Getting our Act Together and Taking it on the Road)

      Antharwn RTWorld Admin

      Hi Everyone!

So, Amaury and I are moving to Austin. Here’s what that means.

We are going to be relocating at the end of April(ish) to Austin Texas. We are getting an apartment and making it our permanent residence. We’re buying a car, taking our cat, and leaving our apartment in Queens. We’re not going to stay at Amaury’s parents house, and we aren't moving to Nebraska, we are completely leaving New York City for Austin, Texas for the foreseeable future.

Your first thought might be, what will happen to RTNY? Let me make it clear that Amaury and I still plan to be involved on an administrative level. We won’t be able to attend meetups on a regular basis, so that will be left to the other admins, but we will still be running and helping with game nights, we’ll try and attend some of the larger events throughout the year, and we’ll still be actively enforcing RTNY rules and regulations, and standard practices. All events and organized gatherings within the state will be organized by the current admins: Garrett, Chas, Priscille, Devin, and Chrissy.

That being said, the admin team has agreed that they would like another set of hands to help manage the local meetups, and hold down the fort on the home front, so we’re looking for applicants for the open admin position. If it’s something you’d be interested in here are a few things you’ll need to remember/be able to do:

You have to be willing to be a team player, and assist when you can.

Patience is a virtue, and a requirement.

Help look for meetup ideas, locations, restaurants, anything on a regular basis

Enforce any and all rules and regulations that may be instated

Assist in the moderating of the social media platforms RTNY manages

We will be accepting applications for the next 2 weeks, with the deadline being midnight Sunday March 13th. Note, you do not have to live in New York or New York City to apply, you just have to be an active member of the RTNY community. The application can take about 10-30 minutes (depending on how much you want to write), and you can fill it out at this link: http://goo.gl/forms/KE5V6XxJWF

Now, back to the matter at hand. If anyone has questions about us moving (or the admin application), any concerns, anything at all they’d like to say, and you want us to see it, feel free to post in the comments below. You can also contact us directly if you like. Looking forward to our last 2 months as residents of NYC!

      -Amaury & Sam
