    • My 10 Year Goals

I have some goals I hope to accomplish in the next 10 years before, you know, I get too terribly old. Is it realistic to think I can accomplish these? I think I can if I'm diligent.

-Create and sell at least three games. I'm almost done with one game so I have a head start here. My next game I hope to make Roosterteeth themed, but it'll rely on getting their permission.

-Write a book. I have at least three story ideas I hope to pen some day.

-Write a music album. Don't know if I'd ever try to sell this one because I'm not sure I can write good music :) But it'd be fun to try.

Here's to the next decade being far more productive than any previous years of my life!

"The Beatles, the greatest band in history, write 'Hey Jude' and it's a cheap-shot melody. Our singles are cheap-shot melodies. Never be afraid of the obvious because it's all been done before." '“ Noel Gallagher

Did he really say that? Probably! Everything on the internet is true! But everything probably has been done before

    • YouTube And Groupthink

I notice a fascinating phenomenon in YouTube video comments. There will be some comment about something weird in the video or description or something and then a flood of other comments will post about the same thing. For instance, I was watching a music video for a rock song which had "Pop" as the genre in the description. Many of the comments were "This isn't pop" or "Pop? WTF?" etc.

It's weird and fascinating to me that people can repeat others like this, and so frequently. What's the cause? Why do I notice it most on YouTube? And why the heck do I ever read YouTube comments? These are questions the world may never have answers to (especially that last one).

Is it groupthink? Is it people just fishing for up votes? Is it cosmic coincidence? Do they read what others write and subconsciously copy? Why do people care about up votes anyways? To the point of copying others?

I don't know. Once again, life brings up more questions than answers

    • Guess Who Was Wrong About The Second TLR Death?

Guess who has two thumbs and was totally wrong about who would die next in Ten Little Roosters? This guy!

... Wait, that joke doesn't really work on the internet. I'm pointing two thumbs at myself, see? Yeah? It's hard to type.

    • Roosterteeth And Fullscreen

So I wake up to hear the news that Roosterteeth has been acquired by Fullscreen. Makes me sort of nervous. I worked at a startup that was acquired by a bigger company and at first they were like "We're not going to change anything, we have no plans to", and then later they started wanting our product to be rebranded and let go most of our upper management (we only have one boss left on site).

So I'm a tad worried about the news. Hopefully it pans out. It probably will considering how loyal Roosterteeth fans tend to be.

    • Talking Politics

Man, talking politics. It's frowned upon in some circles and I can totally see why. It can get pretty divisive, and much heated arguments can ensue. But, is it really for the best to remain silent? I guess there's a "time and place" for it, so sometimes it can be inappropriate. But, I don't know, isn't it the boisterous ones who are leading the world? Is remaining silent ultimately for the worse?

I really struggle as to whether I should talk about subjects I think are important, and have strong opinions about. On the one hand I think it's important to discuss. On the other hand, what if I'm just alienating people?

Do you talk politics, person who happens to be reading this? Do you put limitations on when you allow yourself to talk politics?

    • Self Promotion Still Sucks

So now I don't just have a game to promote but I'm now also part of a YouTube channel and have my own series on said channel. I posted a link to my video in some YouTube promotion threads here on RT but yeesh, talk about an echo chamber. I shouted into it, but everyone else is shouting into it as well. I really don't know the best way to promote stuff.

I guess all we can do is keep trying to improve the quality of the stuff we're creating and hope for good word of mouth. Or win the lotto. You know, whichever comes first.
