Not gonna lie, it's fun putting these things together. Don't know if I'll be doing one again anytime soon, but it's always nice to flex those editing muscles :D
Next video should be out soon!
So, I recently went ahead and put together a short video looking at the use of color in the latest Monster Hunter: World demo, and since the back-and-forth has been so much fun to moderate over on the subreddit, I figured I'd see if the RT community has any thoughts on it.
As you can guess by the video, I'm definitely in the camp of 'more color = prettier', but there have been plenty of people so far who argue that such a saturated color palette isn't really necessary. Again, I'm interested to see what y'all think - personally, I definitely like the more contrast-y look of newer games, but I only got into the series relatively recently.
If you want to see the full, unedited demo, you can take a look right here.
Let me know what you think!

Wow, it's good to be back!
First things first: new video!
For those who don't know, my main editing computer died halfway through another project - hence the delay in uploads. Thankfully, I got my baby back, and immediately got to work on a new video!
This is all about taking a look at the colors in the recently-released Monster Hunter: World demo, and what the game might look like if Capcom decided to push the colors a bit. I'm really happy with how the video turned out, and the response has been great so far - and now, I'm hoping a few more people get to check it out!
There's also a bit more information over at Broken Base.com, so if you're interested in what settings I used, go take a look :D

So, we did something a bit different for this video: instead of writing a review or retropsective, Steve decided to try and tackle a montage. Now, this isn't something with a bunch of dubstep or flashy edits - in all honesty, it's mostly an excuse to finally use all of those Xbox One DVR clips that had been taking up storage space!
Of course, we'd be remiss if we didn't give credit to the artist whose music lies at the center of this video - so please, go ahead and check out Cement City's channel. There's a ton of great music there, and it's pretty safe to say that his tracks are one of the major reasons that this montage even happened.
The name of the track we used is 'Bad Boy, Good Dummy' - enjoy! Our next video is already well into production, so keep an eye out!

Man, it's been a while, hasn't it?
So, I finally went ahead and made a proper Dark Souls III review! As someone who's been playing the series since it started, it was a lot of fun to put something like this together - let me know what you all think!
Hello all - Steve from Broken Base here.
So, I had an idea for a new show - something that's part-Let's Play, part fail montage. It'd be something shorter (our other videos are too long for Community submissions), and - to be honest - I just miss Achievement hunting.
The new show would be a few minutes long, and would feature one Achievement per episode. It wouldn't be so much a guide as a montage of different failed attempts at getting the cheevo.
For example: anyone remember that one Achievement in Halo: Reach where you had to stop a lethal fall by assassinating an Elite? My friends and I spent an hour trying to get everyone that Achievement, and it was hysterical. The videos would all feature something like that: a super-tough Achievement, a million failed attempts and a BARREL FULL O' LAUGHS until we actually managed to get it.
I was hoping to ask the RT forums if they had any ideas (also sorry if this is in the wrong forum i'm new to this) - I know there are some ridiculous cheevos out there, but sifting through a million different Achievement lists is a bit much. Also, it might be limited by the games I already own (which is still a good amount) until/if I can start affording to buy more games for the channel.
So, uh - anyone got any ideas?

HELLO EVERYONE! My name's Steve, I'm the editor-thingie of BrokenBase.com! also i'm new here be gentle
SO - the Fourth of July is coming up, and since we're
lonely going to be free that day, I thought - why not do a giant gaming marathon? So...that's what we're doing! As of now, we're planning on roughly twelve hours of content, split between myself and Bill (the other guy from the site), as well as community stuff - from 9pm July 4th to 9am on the 5th!
AND THUS WAS BORN THE FOURTH-OF-JULY INDEPEND-AMURICATHON
Basically, we're trying to work towards a new set of equipment for the site - we're pretty limited now, and one of our main goals for the summer months is trying to create more content more consistently, but again - we need the equipment - mic stands, microphones, new capture equipment (basically everything...sob). So, we've got a big ol' donation button on the stream site...though, that's not really why I'm here.
It'd be amazing if other channels or streams wanted to join in - basically, 'partner' streams would be linked directly to our twitch channel, as well as our announcement video and story on the main site (we'll announce when those go up tomorrow/Monday, June 30th)! The channel is live now, so if you'd like to see our (prototype) schedule, as well as our amazing splash image, it's at http://www.twitch.tv/brokenbase
If you wanted to join up, just message me on the forums here (brokenbasers) or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org!
