Today I came home to find out my Dad had come over to play some video games and to give me some presents!
He had bought a Deluxe Edition Commander & Conquer 3 for me! And a regular edition of Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars for him.
He had also bought Civilization IV, Age of Empires Collector's Edition, Halo 2 Vista, Rise & Fall Civilization at War.
Also an Xbox game called Tom Clancy's Endwar.
So with these games we started to play, and man it was awesome!
He took out a laptop I use for video games(I have three computers, two gaming laptops and one stationary work PC.)
So with this we started to 1v1 in C&C3:TW.
We drew up the scores, we had decided to use scores for different things that went good and bad, for example unit loss and such.
ROUND WINS LOSS UNITS LOST ENEMIES KILLED
      1 - Carrie - 13 wins - 11 loss - 38994 units lost - 26751 enemies killed
      2 - James - 11 wins - 13 loss - 19682 units lost - 30456 enemies killed.
Seems weird about the units right? Well, we weren't exactly doing 1v1 in a game, we did 4v4, he being on the NOD side(Red side) and me being on the GDI side(Yellow side), with two more enemy teams, The SCRIN(Purple) and the ZOCOM(Pretty much the GDI side but better.)
The Scrin btw, is a alien army :L

    • Thoughts of the Demo

So, after playing the demo i've come across some pointers over the overall rating.
GAMEPLAY: 3/5, it's very nice to get a kill but it's annoying with all these "pointers" and unneccesary bars, sorta fills up the screen with just "Go there or here!" so i got lost a little, plus the aiming is very fast and it's close to impossible too turn around while sprinting, for i cannot use my right thumbstick.
STORY: 5/5, I like that there is even a difficulty categorized from: Action, Roleplay, Story. Which all changes the way your game is played, the difference between how much combat and how much the cinematics take up.
CHARACTERS: 2/5, The characters look incredibly edgy and sometimes just skip ten frame-rates to move. And after making my character look as close to my face as possible. Then she suddenly became fat, very bad customization on that part.
      _______________________________________________________________________________________
I'd give this game a 9.25/10, it's a very good game with lots of comedy(Even from this demo) including a female Korgon which kills two Cerberus guards that Wrex didn't see fast enough.
It's a nice way of tying things up, though i'm curious over what happens in the end, do the Reapers die or?
Oh, should probobly say this first:
After the events of Mass Effect 2, Shepherd lives on Earth as a retired Commander, but suddenly something happens to one of the colonies, Shepherd and Anderson are notified and move towards the meeting which they are called too. Shepherd says what she believes is true: The Machines that destroy all life in the universe every 50,000th year is now back to destroy and she/he must do everything he/she can do to stop this evil from destroying everything.
It's very one-sided towards the super-mega robots who destroy all life in the universe every 50,000th year.
I'd reccomend getting the game, it's super-mega awesome!

I forgot to say i was already in Canada and watched the Hockey match, ended equal :( But I did get to see a Russian beat the living snot out of an American. Was a good trip here in the US, when i came back to Sweden i gave my speech, i hope those kids are feeling better about themselves, they still got a chance!
Oh and that speech wasn't that long, i had certain categories i wanted to talk about.
      Such as.
      Hidden meanings in Video games.
Things that you learn on games.
Brain malfunctions caused by video games.
Brain improvements caused by video games.
Pros and cons of playing video games.
How video games affected my entire life and how i became who i am, hopefully that made them strive more :)
Also, i'd like to bring to attention that i seem to be attracted towards being AFK on video games, it seems to fun to watch my TV/computer screen the way it is in my dusty room, then just watch.
      I love that feeling.
      Feeling..Of AFK.

    • Video games are good for you by Carrie J

Video games, many people find them unsuitable for children and other for it may influence their way of thinking.
      WRONG.
There may be alot of people on the internet who are so badly influenced that they believe themselves to be in what they play / like the most on the internet, but those people don't have much brain power to power their "differences" capability. They cannot differ between Life and Virtual, it's a horrible sickness which makes most people unable to make that change between virtual and real.
But, video games make you smarter(Atleast for most) by it's usage of technology and hidden tactics.
Many games for example tell you to grind for eight hours to get one mission complete, this is a hidden way of saying "The more you try and the longer you do it, the closer to your goal you get."
Or that you get to the end of the game but there is still much to do is also a hidden way of saying
"You may be done with something, but it doesn't mean there's nothing to do more."
Or that you can't beat a hard boss, but then after much striving you get rewarded with nothing that you really NEED is a hidden way to say "Sometimes, you can try as hard as you might for minutes, hours, days, months, years, decades. And the end result will be a huge let-down."
I've for example learned how to speak English through video games(I have to thank my friend Jane Allison who introduced me to the World of Warcraft series, i grew a liking for it, but i slowly and steadily learned new words through the usage of the Quest text, sounds nerdy but that's how i managed to become a "Are you British or Irish by birth?" person. I have to thank video games for my improvement in real life and for giving me years of entertainement.
This is a speech I gave a group of students who were feeling down by the fact they play video games, they feel like nerds who don't know anything. Hopefully this cheered them up a little bit, knowing that games aren't just 100% bad, but are very good at teaching you things that you will just understand in the future.

I agree can't wait for H4 but I'm worried they'll like you say make it kinect. And if it's only kinect thats my only worry other than the storyline. But I'm still pumped for it.

      • Carrie1234

I think Kinect for Halo would be awesome, considering it'd allow hand to hand combat, which many people WOULD and WILL love.(Taking into consideration that RvB uses CGI that maybe is gonna be avaible in Kinect halo 4? I'd do a Gametype called "Just fight, damnit!"
Haha, but yeah. It'd be weird to make hover-hands into a gun.(Unless they make a plastic toy that is a Magnum, Assault rifle.)
