When most people like myself first bought Halo, we were no good. "Trash," some might say. Use this thread as a record, where you can share stories about your initial ineptitude, if you had any.
I'll start things off with my first online experience with Halo that was also a valuable lesson. It was a match of Rumble Pit on Midship, and I remember getting into fights with this guy who had the sword, and I was so stupid that I was practically throwing myself at him. I'd see him and charge straight at him, I guess I was thinking I could scare him into submission. Didn't go as planned. Needless to say that I ended the match very negative, and my average life wasn't something to be proud of.
That match taught me two things:
1) Don't rush the guy with the sword.
2) If possible, be the guy with the sword.
