My reintroduction with Rooster Teeth was the RT Podcast (it was still the Drunk Tank when I started ~60 episodes in). After that, everything RT is why I'm a fan. :) @RTContests

I really have no words to say that hasn't been said already by all the great people at this company and its community so I'll just say this. I'll miss you Monty

Well, I did it. I just got my tickets for Let's Play Live! I'm super excited and it's gonna be hard waiting for the next three weeks but it'll be worth the time waited. smiley0.gif

was fantastic! Jason and I went to three panels, one on each day: RWBY on Friday, Game Grumps on Saturday and RT Podcast today. We didn't get to explore the Exhibition Hall too much since the wait for those three panels were multiple hours long.

I'll keep this short and say that I'm already counting the days until RTX 2015. smiley0.gif

I'm going to try out this Banner Saga game. I really enjoy Tactical RPG's, even though I may not be that good at them, so I hope it's good. :)

This time, it was a bit more tame and much shorter than the last. I don't remember everyone involved in the dream, but I know Barbara, Burnie and Joel were there. I was driving Joel's car somewhere, similar to the RT Life where they were trying to find the car to jump, but I was following a GTA V-style map. It was like I was driving in real-life with GTA V controls. There was a time jump and I was parked under an awning in some complex. I apparently crashed the car and a whole bunch of RT people were there trying to figure out what happened. The last thing I remember is Joel's angry face.

    • Terrible Dream

I had me a terrible dream that woke me up right before work this morning. Here's how it went:

I was visiting Rooster Teeth and Miles was giving me a tour. Strangely enough, the new Arts and Technology building at UTD that was completed after I graduated, was right next to a new RT building. We decided to tour the ATEC building since I've never been inside. We got to talking about the PC's they had inside and somehow that transitioned to me being offered a job. Of course, I accepted.

I'm back at work and I have to tell my store manager that I need a week off to test the waters at my new job. She wasn't happy and I never got a response because it jumped to me telling my boss I need time off. For some reason, I got convinced that I might have misunderstood and I don't actually have a job offer. I started going through my phone to contact Miles and see what was going on. Some terrible explosion happened and the building shook. My work building was sinking, so I ran to the roof and jumped off. I did some flips in the air and landed on my back and I assume I died because that's when I woke up. I also assume everyone at my work died. Man, what a terrible dream. Mostly because I didn't actually get a job offer from Rooster Teeth smiley2.gif

    • Phases

I realized recently that my likes and interests operate in phases. For example, I've been on a Dream Theater kick for quite some time now, especially after the release of Dream Theater and Live at Luna Park. I'm currently transitioning into what I believe is called Djent Metal, with bands like Scale the Summit, Periphery, Intervals, Pomegranate Tiger, etc. Another example, I just got back into the Star Wars franchise, especially pre and post movies. I've been watching tons of videos about this Jedi versus another, Sith versus Sith, and of course Jedi versus Sith. I also started replaying Knights of the Old Republic and am considering jumping back into Star Wars: The Old Republic . When I get into these phases, I tend to get really into them, reading tons of lore and watching tones of videos. I concentrate on them and push back other interests. Anyone else like that?

    • So, a career change

I graduated the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor's degree in Arts and Technology. That basically means that I can create some 3D models, texture them and their environments, write game design documents and have some insights in game history and development. After I graduated, I didn't land a job in the industry so I just went to work. Three years later, I didn't retain any passion for the field and I have little motivation to continue in that direction.

The only thing I have consistently been trying to improve is my drumming skills. So, I've decided to move my life in that direction. I don't know if it will work out but it's where I want to go right now. I know that the music career is difficult (as is any artistic career) but I feel a passion there where I haven't felt anywhere else. Good luck to me, yes?

RTX was awesome. I went to a few panels and learned a lot. I also learned to get into town a lot earlier so I don't have to mess with the hotel during the convention. As a side to that, I should also stay in town longer so I don't have to check out during the convention.

RWBY Technology, Success on the Internet and Production A to Z were all amazing panels. RWBY is awesome and I can't wait for the premiere next week. It was also really cool to get an inside scoop on the behind-the-scenes technical stuff. The Internet panel taught me a lot about marketing myself on the Internet and possibly where the Internet will be going in the next few years. I learned a lot about producing from Kathleen and learned it's much harder than it seems to the public to produce. She also gave out a sense of passion and encouragement to those of us who want to be in the field.

The RT Shoot was also really awesome. It's a shame that we had to stand in line for three-and-a-half hours but throwing water balloons at Gavin was worth it. This is also where I got my injury. At one point, I felt I had to sit down since I had been standing for quite some time. There was broken glass on the ground and I thought I had moved it all. I was wrong. A small piece sliced my leg but I couldn't feel the cut so I figured it was a scratch. Three hours later, after the shoot, I get back to my hotel to check out and clean up and my leg is bleeding. Not a lot, but bleeding nonetheless. I tried cleaning it and stopping the flow but I couldn't. An hour later, the Hilton's medic guy came in and professionally sealed it up. Realizing I was going to miss the RT Podcast Panel and not feeling safe standing for hours at a time, I decided to check out and drive home.

I know this wasn't the happiest of stories but I still see lots of positive here. It's a pretty big deal that I would miss a full day of the convention because of a shallow but not severe cut and still be happy about my experience. I can't wait until next year; hopefully I won't injure myself this time. :)
