Anyone else doing it, or is it just me...?

So, I was looking at DiMono...

I was actually looking at the summary that DiMono wrote for his book, 'Unseen' and thought it was really awesome.
Now, I already have an idea for a book that I'm (hoping to) write later on, maybe in a couple weeks. But, I'm not sure if everyone, or anyone for that matter, will enjoy the setting and plot for it's set in a fantasy world and such.

Do you think I should go with my current idea, or a different one?

      I was asked...

...to create a world off the top of my head in a quick instance and type it out to a friend...
This is what I came up with.

It'd be a world like no other. Where pollution, filth, and betrayal wouldn't be a thing. Somehow, it would all coincide in a holy trinity that resides delicately in this world. There would be different continents on a globe unlike ours. A grassy/Jungley continent, with a snowy upper plate, and a placid green in the middle, rainy between. There'd be a Desert continent, obviously connected to the Jungle one where I imagine swiping down vine after vine and then revealing a large open plain. Where the sun peaks the largest sand dune and the dirt/sand settles above buried ancient brick cities.

If it were entirely up to me, I would have different parents, different family and everything. Not that there's anything wrong with my family, I just imagine they (my parents namely) wouldn't cope so well with living in this new jungle environment where leaves and plants alike glow ominous colours and a hue is visible in the air; only to accommodate the eloquently mysterious and magical forest. I can see myself and a close band of two friends (both new-thought-up childhood friends who would be with me until life's end) to face the world head on after choosing to leave our quaint little abode in search of what my (unknowingly created) world has to offer.

I, myself, would wield a Staff of sorts, preferably including some ornamental insignia's and designs on it however still functional. My staff would emanate a slight bluey hue to accompany my love of water/ice magic.. My Female friend would wield her favourite choice of weapon, a bow and arrow embued with the body of nature, it glows a faint green. My Male friend, in contrast would wield a lance like no other. Almost reminiscent of a halbred. The blade would be undoubtedly sharp, and on the hilt resides a flowing red string wrapped numerously around it in intricate patterns. He holds the halbred close to him sentimentally as it was a gift from his father on the day of his departure.

In my world, magic would not be the norm, but it would be accepted, unlike Dragon Age. People would know of magic and it's dangers as well as it's benefit's. Some may scare and wary, while some are drawn in with aptitude or knowledge of it's prowess. Holders of magic would not be trained in different school's, but they would be punished if misused vehemently.
Aptitude wouldn't be trained in special school's either. They would all be trained in the same type of classes as everyone else, only the content would differ (like in a math class where people who do well are handed one worksheet and people who don't are handed an easier one).

The hero of our story, me (because I egotistical like that >.> [Not really]), would be born of a commoner's family. Yet they live in a quaint village where their population is limited and scarce, so no matter what social/financial class you are born into or raised as, you always have to pull your own weight to live. The village would lay in the pit of the Jungle continent, maybe in the western area. They live off of the woods and know flowers from herbs, and which berries are edible all just by a quick glance; They were raised here and they apply their knowledge eagerly.

My world would house friends, family, allies, enemies, villains, and tyrants. Each with their own view of how everything should run, each with their own philosophy. My story would be one of adventure, romance, comfort, angst, and sorrow. Friends will die, allies will be lost, enemies are to be bested, tyrants to be overrun.

      ...This, would be my world.

      Got your Interior Design?

So, I recently decided that I am tired of the same room that I've had for 16 years (about time, eh?). For now, I've chosen a Japanese-esque style bedroom. A stereo-typical one including the rice paper doors, swords on the walls, and everything... Now, I'm just looking online to figure out a map of it...
Either Japanese or something Artic-related (and wolf related).... Maybe forest...?

Leave your thoughts on the 3, xD.
      Japanese?
      Artic/Wolf?
      Forest/Wolf?

      Other Species.

in Forums > Other Species. | Follow this topic

I kind of have two questions for this one. One may or may not be related to Philosophy but it still does tie into my question.

      1) Looking from one of the many Hubble telescope pictures, you see even the darkest square inch has thousands, if not millions of solar systems in there. Each containing hundreds of stars and potential planets in orbit around it. With all those planets in the universe, do you think it is possible that other intellectual (or sentient) life is out there in the universe?

      2) With all the personalities, quirks, and fetishes out there, I highly doubt that no one in this world is attracted to (fictional) alien species. Hell, there's even names for them: Pokephile, Digiphile, Furry (keep in mind that I'm talking about the people who like the sentient, anthropomorphic one's. Not the Beastiality ones.). All the movies that depict people like this are always reprimanded for just being themselves, they are always mistreated just because they're abnormal.
Do you think it's right? Do you think people attracted to different species should be punished for it?

      How do I post gif's?

Whenever I upload a gif to my images tab, it displays it as a normal picture and doesn't move. Is there something I have to do?

      Guild Wars 2 Drunk Tanks.

Originally, I was planning on being in the Rooster Teeth's own Drunk Tanks in Guild Wars 2, but they are based out of the Fort Aspenwood server. I'm going to be in the Sea of Sorrow's... Well, this blows. :(

  • About Me

I'm 16 as of now. My favourite subjects are Psychology, Programming, Visual Arts (CGI (sometimes)), and Astronomy. I feel as though I would learn more at my leisure, when I can watch a documentary of the subject for fun. I've read some people's stories before (fanfiction) and I have to say, with complete confidence, that I am an above average author.

I am completely different than the majority of the teenagers you see today.

I accept random friend requests on every one of my social media networks. Just tell me that you found me on here. ^_~

In fact, I did finish the 50,000 words, but not the novel. I'm quite proud of it being my first year, and winning all at the same time. :D

        Can't believe you remembered. :)

Not sure where you can get it for ipod. iTunes doesn't have it, Amazon Video is having licensing problems, and the DVD box set is currently unavailable.

So the only thing I can suggest as of now is YouTube.

Aww. I was hoping I wouldn't have to stream it, but if nothing else, I shall have to.

On another note, thank you for getting back at me. Really appreciate it. =)
