So, figured I should add some more life updates... I've been around, watching videos and all that, but not really posting much. That being said, there are a few places I want to post and join in on discussions for
Unfortunately for the first time in a while I was unable to go to MCM London last year (different reasons for each day), which after also missing RTUK meant that I haven't seen a lot of people for a while, which is sad. That being said, I'm very much looking forward to being able to catch up with people at RTX London! (or just say hi while running past if I end up being a Guardian)
Karting has kicked up a gear (pun intended) and despite a fair hunk of bad luck, I finished the Club100 Lightweight championship in 3rd this year, securing myself a promotion to the next class up, which will give me even more intense races next year. I might start posting more footage as I'm looking into getting a helmet cam, but I also want to get my helmet painted and that kind of needs to come before permenantly fixing a camera to it.
The below video probably reflects how the season went as a whole (I'm number 8, see if you can work out where some of the inspiration from my racesuit came from
In the past year I've gotten a lot more involved in D&D games, including playing in two games (Pathfinder and GURPS) and also starting GMing my own campaign (Also in GURPS). My campaign follows a group of archaeologists who have to retrieve artifacts from ancient tombs, following ancient myths and legends. The game is about 20 sessions (~3-4 hrs each) and 2 "arcs" in, with a fair way still to go.
This is one of things I want to get involved in the forums more again for, as I reckon there are a lot of good people to bounce ideas off and get some good stories from. I also want to post another journal soon about the kinds of things that have been happening so far in my campaign
During the off-season from karting, I've taken up archery. I'm only a few sessions in, but feel like I'm starting to get the hang of it. I'm hoping to use it to complement my karting, using it to improve my focus and upper body strength. I'll probably need to stick to gaming for the reaction times though.
So, even with work and everything, I actually feel like I'm finding more time to play games at last. That being said, I still haven't got an Xbone or PS4 as I've got a bit of a backlog of 360 games to play (I 100%ed Forza 3 and Far Cry 3 and am currently on Dark Souls, that's how far behind I am).
I will, however, be getting a switch, as I have an hour long commute and the opportunity to spend it playing the new Zelda is too good to pass up.
tl;dr; Just look at the 5 headings, that's what I'm doing. Plus work too I guess. Cheerio!
