      Birthday.

Today is the one year anniversary of my 21st birthday...

      ...in other words, I'm 22.

Plans for the day? Gonna take it easy, especially after the day I had yesterday.

Warning: This Entry May Contain Words.

(Only because I have no idea what else to title this.)

So...what's up, everybody? I don't have a whole lot going on...I had a lot going on last week, but now things are chill. Here's what happened last week:

      1. Performed my Junior Recital. It went really, really well. I've been listening to my recordings a lot, and I actually sound pretty decent. It was a great night. If anybody's interested in listening to some of the recordings, I'm trying to find a way to put them online (they're audio only), but until then, just give me your e-mail address and I can send them to you. They're not perfect, but I'm still pretty damn proud of them.

      2. Got into my first car accident. Don't worry, it's not as bad as it sounds. I got rear-ended this past Saturday. I was slowing down at a light and the guy behind me was too close to me to react in time. Thankfully, everybody's fine. Our cars are fine, too, minus some scratches and small dents here or there. We've decided that we don't want to get our insurance companies involved - I'm just gonna take my car to the shop, have them fix it, and the other guy's just gonna pay for whatever it costs to fix my car. Simple.

...and, I guess that's basically it. Funny, I thought I had more to talk about, but I guess I don't. Oh well! Until next time!

      Weird.

Pulling an all-nighter when you have absolutely nothing to do the next day feels weird. I'm on Spring Break right now (I know, it's not even spring yet...that's just how my school works), so technically I can do whatever the hell I want, but still...I only ever do all-nighters when I have something important going on the next day. This is the first time I can recall ever doing one simply because I couldn't fall asleep.

      I hate people.

It pisses me off so much when people complain about their relationships.

Girl: "Man, I haven't had sex since September...it's been way too long! I'm going through withdrawal, I think I might die!"

      Me: "..."

Me (what I'm thinking): "I haven't had a girlfriend in five years. FUCK. OFF."

      Frustration abounds.

So, as you can tell by my last journal entry, I am in fact still alive. Had a great Christmas. Here's everything I got:

      - New laptop!
      - Call of Duty: Black Ops
      - Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
      - Battlefield 2: Bad Company
      - The Sims 3
      - The Pacific (the entire HBO series)
      - Inception
      - Xbox wireless adapter
      - A CD of all 9 Dvorak symphonies
      - A CD of all 6 Tchaikovsky symphonies + other pieces
      - A new Ben Folds CD
      - A cookbook
      - A blender so the cooking doesn't take as long (depending on what I'm making, obviously)
      - Jon Stewart's new book (Earth: The Book)

And then I went to my uncle's house and got fucking drunk. Good Christmas? I'd say so.

...Oh well! Guess we'll never know!

      100 days

I've officially been logged on to this site for a current total of 100 days and 15 minutes...that's a little over 2,400 hours spent on here. However, considering that I've been a member of this site for over 6 years now, that's not all that impressive.

Trust me, I really do come here every day! ...It's just that I usually only visit for a few minutes at a time. Trust me, I ain't dead, though. I still read peoples' journals, I still watch all the videos, sometimes I browse the forums...I'm just more of a lurker than anything.

      Random Observations

      - Talking to your parents about drinking is weird. Age doesn't matter - it's just weird...especially when you find out that your mom loves drinking Captain Morgan almost as much as you do.

      - I joke that I'm never going to graduate, but after looking at the list of classes I have to take for my major...I don't have much left. It's rather exciting.

      - I don't understand how people can be so lazy when it comes to little things, such as - using the turn signal, putting a shopping cart away instead of leaving it out in the parking lot, peeing IN the toilet bowl rather than on the seat...these things are not difficult. These are the kinds of things that everybody should be expected to do. The fact that some people don't greatly confuses me.

      - Music should always be performed at the absolute highest level. If you're capable of playing all the notes and rhythms correctly, but you're not playing with any emotion or energy, or you just don't care about the piece...why are you playing it? To give anything less than your absolute best all the time is to waste everybody else's time. If you're given an opportunity to perform a piece of music, don't just play it - PERFORM IT!

...and that, ladies and gentlemen, sums up my day today.

      So, hey

I've been a member of this site for 6 years now.

Funny to think of just how small this community was back then. I was one of the first members. Back when we had member #s, I'm pretty sure I was number 268.

Shame I missed the anniversary by a few days, but still, it's cool to think of just how much this place has grown in what's really a pretty short amount of time.

  • About Me

I'm a music major who enjoys life on the side. I currently attend Georgia State University as a music performance major, and I play the French horn. I am also a huge drum corps fan, and marched the summers of 2008 and 2009 with the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps on mellophone.

Random friend requests are not accepted. I typically don't send friend requests, either. I'm not the kind of person who likes to have thousands of friends. If you want to add me, at least try to get to know me.

Hey, did you hear already about tonights Monday night lunar eclipse, it is supposed to be a full eclipse of the moon, I am not totally sure when it is supposed to be visible for all of us here in the central time zone, but I think it is supposed to begin around 11pm "approx" first the moon will turn sort of orange and then go black, and it will be a long time before it comes back out again, it will look awsome.
info about the eclipse can be read here...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/December_2010_lunar_eclipse

i was totally teasing. Bailey's is quite delicious. Try it with Butterscotch Schnapps. That's what we like to call a "Buttery Nipple" or "Slippery Nipple". Quite tasty.

Agreed. Meeting another band geek is like meeting someone you practically know everything about. It's just because we're awesome.
