So, as you all have not undoubtedly noticed, I haven't been around at all since the end of Season 10, and even through Season 10 I wasn't around much. I wish I could say there was some spectacular reason for this, some Earth shattering development in my life that tore me away from my beloved lap top and one of my most favorite of websites. Sadly, if I did, I would be lying. The short of it is that due to some new policies being placed at my current job and some drastic personnel changes at the beginning of this year have resulted me being unable to sign on to the Rooster Teeth site on my work computer and because of this I was rather crippled when it came to keeping up with the forums and the site.

I tried, I really did. Every morning I when I woke up and every evening after slogging through my front door I'd log on and see what I'd missed on the forums. Sadly, though, keeping up even with only a couple of threads was a daunting task. Especially since I live on the west coast. By the time I got on-line, everything that could be said, usually was. As I sifted through pages and pages of posts, I'd come across a few here and there I'd wanted to respond to, but by the time I reached the end, the point had become irrelevant. And I'm no where near as good at mass responding as @Wash008 is. So after a while of just treading water to keep afloat, I gave up and just kinda sank to the bottom.

But I missed it. Oh, god, did I miss it. I missed the conversations we (more so you guys) would have after the end of each new episode, discussing theories, or what we wanted to see, or hoped would happen next. And I missed you guys. Missed the jokes, the friendly teasing and banter, the journal entries. In short, the community.

So, I'm back like that gross rusted penny you never can quite get rid of. Or maybe more like that cat from that song. You know, the one that the singer tries to loose in the woods or drown? Anyway, got myself a shiny new gold star by my name and a fresh new avatar to start the season right with. I can't make promises that I'll be a huge presence on the forum boards, but I'll definitely be lurking about here and there on the current season's thread, maybe on the Washington thread and of course, my personal favorite, the Crackpot thread.

I do have a Tumblr account now, having been sucked in by its promise of shiny art and tantalizing fanfiction. I'll be posting my knee-jerk episode reactions there with a link put up in this journal for anyone who is at all interested in reading them.

So, uh, yeah, in conclusion: Work is draining, I've missed you all, and I'm back now.

God, I can't wait for this.

Every Monday night a few friends and I play Vampire (the World of Darkness table-top role playing game) and some great quotes come out of this game. This past Monday night was no exception. This one was my favorite:

Game Master: *describing a creature my character was seeing* It looks like a cross between a Snitch and a tribble.

      Me: Oh, like a Kuriboh.

      Game Master: yeah

      Me: *musing* A winged Kuriboh.

Raven: Wow! That was the geekiest conversation I've ever heard. I'm proud to have not only witnessed it, but know each fandom you referenced!

I don't usually use my journal for this kind of thing, but this has been bothering me since I received my Season 10 DVD: Is there supposed to be any Behind The Scenes content in the "Extras" portion because mine doesn't seem to have any. I don't know if I'm just being inept and not seeing it or what. Those of you who have gotten theirs, please help me!

As some of you who follow the RvB Season 10 Thread in the forum may know, I have a co-worker who reminds me very much of Agent Washington in the Freelancer timeline. Well, this co-worker is now my roommate. Its been an interesting couple of weeks.

    • Headlight Fluid Levels Low

Yesterday a Kaizoku*, a friend and co-worker of mine, brought his Ford Bronco to the mechanic because it had failed the required emissions testing for the state of Arizona. The Bronco is one of those cars that you love, but has a number of things wrong with it. It was at the mechanic's all day and at the end Kaizoku was given a long litany of things that needed to be fixed. As the mechanic listed them off Kaizoku said it was like being told his best friend had cancer and was going to die.

I admit that I know next to nothing about cars except how to change a tire and that an oil change really does need to be done every 3 months. As Kaizoku was listing off all the things that the Bronco needed done, I was running a daily report for the office and was admittedly only half listening to him:

Kaizoku: They said that I had to replace the spark plugs and spark plug wires.

Me: Uh huh...*the report was not running properly either*

Kaizoku: It needs to have the fluids flushed, like the transmission and all that.

Me: I guess it could be worse...?

Kaizoku: *after a moment's pause* And I'm getting low on headlight fluid.

Me: *the report and the fact that it was refusing to run the way I wanted it to was quickly forgotten* Wait. Did you really just say headlight fluid?

Kaizoku: *with a big grin on his face* Just seeing if you were paying attention. Dude did give me a discount on some quality elbow grease.

      Me: >_< Asshole.

Kaizoku: Just making sure you were listening.

*Kaizoku obviously isn't this co-worker's name, but I like giving silly monikers to my friends when referencing them on the internet. This particular friend is a huge fan of One Piece and Kaizoku is Japanese for pirate.

Hi! I got a promotion of sorts at work and haven't had the time to check the forums as much as I used to (read: at all). Once Season 10 starts, I'll start making more of an effort. Let everyone know I'm still alive and give them all my best!

They vary tremendously in ages. Some as young as 5 or 6, up to 17 18. Some times I teach classes of adults. It might be worth while to mention that I teach classes at a martial arts academy.

Haha. I'm impressed that they even knew what the show was, though I'm not surprised that they hadn't actually seen an episode. How old are your students?

So you said the other day that you wanted to know how many of my students know of the show Frasier. It seems that several of the older ones (grades 11 and 12 mostly) at least know of it, some have even seen a few episodes. None of them I think will be quoting or referencing it sadly. One of them when asked if she knew about it said, "Oh yeah that show with the mostly bald guy!"

My brain's not sure how to take that. One of them (my little sister in fact) just called me old. I'm gonna go get a cane now and start calling kids "hooligans".

Oh, you know there's going to be a next time.

Spambot trophies are bagged every day here on RT.

Sometimes there will be a flood of them.

I get a chuckle out of them, but yes, I prefer that they didn't show up. I'd rather have the occasional trollette.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind next time. Though, I prefer there not to be a next time.
