So, I was watching the Rooster Teeth Pax panel online and Joel was talking about how he had copies of the The Schedule on Vhs. This got me thinking about my Vhs player. She still works, and I watch old videos with her all the time. So, while watching the panel, I had a little moment of enjoyment at how well I've taken care of her. So, in conclusion, suck it, modern media!

So I've had an awesome Friday. I came home from school, watched all the new videos on the sites, and one of my favorite TV shows came off its mid-season break. But what topped it all off? I won the 2nd RT writing contest. This was a complete shock. I actually had to pause what I was watching, step away from my computer, and calm down. I failed. I failed hard. There was a lot of joyous screaming and flailing. I even started beating down my brother's door to tell him. I'm honored that people actually liked my story. And a shout out to all the other amazing stories entered. You guys rock. smiley0.gif

As a lover of creepy pasta and Achievement Hunter, my body has been preparing me for this my entire life. If you could see the condition I'm in at the moment, you would say it clearly wasn't enough. I laughed so hard, and they didn't even get to the bath house thing, with all the twists and turns in it.

So, all the talk of blood on podcast #157 got me thinking about an experience I had in a thrift shop. I had gathered several nice dresses I wanted to try on and proceeded to the dressing rooms. All was well, until I picked up a beautiful pink prom dress. As I unzipped it, I noticed something on the upper bodice: a big, red, blood stain. Stunned, I quietly hung it on the rack outside the room, and walked out of the store.
It should be noted that the store was opened to raise money to support the victims of domestic violence.

While I can't speak for gold in the stock market, I can give a few reasons why it is in such high demand. Gold is a very soft metal, making it extremley malleable and ductile. This, along with the fact that it resists corrosion, is non-toxic, and, of course, conducts electrictity, makes it prized in the electronics industry. Let's, for conversation's sake, use the example of cellphones. They have a tiny amount of gold wiring in them. It might not be a lot, but with every cellphone, that amount gets higher and higher and higher. That's in cellphones alone. We can't forget gold's use in things like art and jewelry, either.

    • I've Got a Big Bag of Crabs!

Actually, a cooler. I went crabbing in the Guana river and caught a bunch of big blue crabs. We made a low country boil with them, some shrimp, and cabasa. On a side note, while we were crabbing, a laughing gull landed on the beach and swallowed a fishing line with a hook and bait on it. There was nothing we could do about it. So if you see fishing line just sitting there, please throw it away.

I was listening toan old podcast and Griffon reminded me of this: I recenlty went to The Potter's Wax Museum in St. Augustine Florida and was have a conversation with a friend who works their. She was telling how the reports of hauntings are true. She and her boss saw a man disappear in the theater. She also told me how employees who sleep in the loft upstairs always have nightmares. Despite all of that, that place is still creepy. Those models are really life like.

I'll do that! :)I'll have to wait till after the contest is over to see if I can upload the ones I entered. I will put a few up, though. Funny story: I went snorkeling on the reef and then walked around Little Torch Key. The funny part is that I have really long hair that, if not brushed while drying, turns into a real mess. So I walked around with sea weed in my hair, looking I lived in the mangroves. Also, while in the Everglades, we drove through Everglades City and saw a lot of empty homes. Then we stopped, it rained, and an ARMY of mosquitoes flew at our car window. Then we turned on to the Big Cypress Boardwalk and almost ran into an 8ft alligator just taking his time crossing the road. Anyway, long response is long. I'll probably doing a few stained glass projects before the end of Summer.

Yea, I know how you feel. I love my story, but man, I think I managed to develope back problems during the past few days I've been hunched over my laptop. We had to do at least 10 pages and it didn't have to be the whole story. Still, most people wanted to make it the whole book, but we all ran out of time, so I had to try and wrap it up as nicely as possible. I only finished a few minutes ago and now I'm editing. Now all I have to do is film my Spanish project... great...

I know right? It was actually kind of fun, but that doesn't disguise how much of a pain it was to finish.
