So as well as playing a lot of video games i also like to read. I do most of my reading when i go away for work mainly because i can't bring my xbox with me.
In the 4 weeks away from home i have read 7 books and have just started my 8th. Now i freely admit that most of these books are quick reads lasting about 6hrs, (thats what the kindle app tells me) but that doesn't mean that they aren't good books.
The first book i read was "The Crow Road" by Iain Banks. Its a brilliant story (if not a little odd, but that just bank's style). this was my second time reading it and i was just as good as when i first read it.
2nd book was "The Martian" by Andy Weir. Now this book i can't recommend enough, its a brilliant story that had me laughing out loud all the time. Its only just been released and its already been picked up for a movie. I would say read it now so you can judge the move to be poor and nothing like how you pictured it in your head! lol
Books 3 and 4 where Orbs 1 and 2 by Nicholas Sansbury Smith. These are part of a trilogy but sadly the third book isn't due out till next year. Now they are now the best science fiction in the world but i really enjoyed them and couldn't put them down.
Book 5 was "The Hydrogen Sonata" by Iain M Banks. Its was a really good read which isn't surprising as he was a fantastic author.
Number 6 was "Halo, Broken Circle" by John Shirley. Now this book is all about the formation of the covenant between the prophets and elites and then continues from the events from Halo 1 and the during Halo 2. i love all the halo extended universe and this book helps to add a little bit more information in to the relationships between some of the alien species from the games.
Number 7 was "The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien. Which is my favourite book, i have read it almost every year since i was 15. Now it is a kids book and its a really quick ready but its just amazing and it sucks you in to this amazing world which i have been in love with for half of my life.
The final book or books that i have just started is "Lord Of The Rings" which is by no means a short book but i do love it. I have read it multiple times and every time i read it i find new things to fall in love with as well as everything i loved about it when i first read the book.
Now excuse me while i get back to my books.
