So I am excited about RTX. Unbelievably excited. It's sad that a 34 year old guy can be this excited about something like this, but I won't lie - I am SUPER excited. At the same point though, I am a little scared. This is the first time I will get to go to RTX and there are so many things I want to see and do that I am a little overwhelmed. At the same point, I am bringing my family - my wife wants to go just to see me fan boy out on everything, but we also decided to take our girls with us as well (and possibly our son, but that hasn't been decided yet) Our girls are 9 and 7 and they LOVE RWBY. My oldest can almost quote the entire movie. I bought them the Ruby Rose figurine and the soundtrack and a poster and they both lit up when they saw them. I am excited to bring them, but also scared. I don't know how "kid friendly" this event is, although honestly neither my wife nor myself are necessarily "kid friendly", but I also don't know how they will do in such a huge crowd with so many things that they will want to see and do. I hope they have a great time, but I honestly don't know how they are going to handle the crowds. I would love for them to be able to meet Lindsey and Kara and Jen and Barb - they would absolutely lose it to meet the voices of the show they love, but I also know that the chance of them actually getting to meet them might be pretty slim, depending on what else is going on at the times that they are available for meet and greets.
Are there any parents out there who brought their kids to RTX last year? How was the experience overall? How old are your kids? Both of my girls love games and Minecraft and stuff like that. How accessible were the different areas that showcased things like that?
Anyway - maybe I am just worried about nothing. Only time will tell I suppose. Hope to see you all at RTX this year.

      Games for the Site

So in the podcast they asked if the users of the site would be interested in games. Burnie said something about not being able to do much in the way of games involving RvB - and since RvB is the main draw for the website AND it is based off of Halo - which is copywritten from here to next sunday - I think he might have been a little bit leery of trying it out. I was thinking that there were some games that could be made - mainly flash based games probably - that could have something to do with RvB without infringing on any copywrites. Maybe something that could help develop the characters a bit more - things before they were in the Army like a fighting game to explain why Tex is so bad ass, or a dating game for Tucker that shows just how good he really is with the ladies or something along those lines. What are your thoughts?

So who's the guy you gotta blow to get..

Some of the cast and crew as friends?? lol but seriously - I try to send a message to Burnie - I know he is a busy man...just a simple question...and I get the message that he only accepts messages from friends - so then I look all over his page for the Add Friend button and its not there - so I go to Joel, Gus and Geoff's pages as well and none of them have the add friend button either...wth!?! :(

I wonder how many people will ever read this - since I don't have any friends on here....hmmmm

I like the idea, however, if we make that a contest for the community, it's very limiting to those who can submit entries. We like to make competitions that everyone can participate in (for the most part), so having something very talent-specific might put some people off.

Good luck, and let me know if you have any other ideas for contests!
