    • Metroid: The BAD M

After playing the new Metroid game all I can say is that the only thing Team Ninja succeeded in doing is butchering the series. Let me list some of the ways.

-Samus talks (and has atrocious voice acting).
      -Samus apparently has clinical depression.
-Adam Malkovitch is a dick, and he never shuts up while you are playing.
-Every character talks in a monotone voice.
-There are to many cut scenes, and they all last a long time.
-Each missile tank only gives you one additional unit.
-You are able to recharge your missiles whenever you want.
-You are able to recharge your health whenever it gets low.
-You don't have to aim at anything (you automatically lock onto the closest target).
-The scenery is very boring and repetitive.
-Whenever you are close to an item pickup you see a bright blue dot on your minimap.
-It is very difficult to switch from 3rd to 1st person due to the fact that you have to dramatically adjust the way you hold the Wii remote.
-There is very little music, and it only plays once every very long while.

I am pretty sure that all the game developers did was make the game and then say to themselves "Oh, this looks pretty, therefore it has to be good."

I think that I would give this game a 4 out of 10.

    • 2nd Playthroughs

Now that I am wrapping up Final Fantasy XIII I am in the process of selecting a new RPG to play. One of the first games that popped into my mind was Tales of Symphonia. I have only played through the game once but so far it is one of my favorites, then I got to thinking. When you play through a game the first time through everything is new. Every plot twist, character development, and the way the world opens up before you is like a nice little surprise. This adds a sense of mystery and excitement to the game that you simply can't recreate the second time through due to the fact that you already know how the story goes. I wish that I could intentionally forget a story so that I would be able to enjoy the story as much as I did the first time through again and again.

I bought Final Fantasy XIII on day one. I have to say that it is a fun game. The storyline is nothing original, but the way the game plays is new. People complain that the game is inferior in terms of graphics. But honestly I barely notice a difference. My only concern is that it will not be very long. According to IGN the game takes about 60 hours to beat, but I am ten hours into it and am already on disc 2, so I can't see it lasting much longer than 40 hours.

    • Happy New Year

This past year was a big one for me. I graduated from hell (they handed me a high school diploma on my way out), I got a car, I started college, I bought an Xbox. All said, this past year has been a fairly good one. I am sure that this next one will be even better. I decided to try something different this year and I bought a daruma, my resolution that goes with it is to get straight A's because every term in school I do well in every class, except for one which I get a B in. I think that this year will be the year that I have a term where I get all A's.

    • Best Games Ever

I was thinking the other day, if I had to choose my favorite game of all time what would it be? I don't think that I can narrow it down to a favorite game ever, but I think that I can pick a top 10 list. In my opinion everybody should play all of these games at least once in their life, even if they only play it for a few hours and never pick it up again. Keep in mind that all of these games that I list here I consider about equal.

      *Metroid Fusion

      *Metroid Prime 1

*Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

      *Metal Gear Solid 1

      *Pokemon Red/Blue

      *Halo: Combat Evolved

      *Harvest Moon D.S.

      *Super Metroid

*Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

There are plenty of other games that almost made it up here. If I were to make a list of all of my favorite games, there would be at least 50. However, if nothing else at a bare minimum, everybody should play the games that are listed here at least once.

    • Tales

The other day I bought Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. I have never played a tales game before, but I love this game. I was surprised when I read that most game sites gave it a low score. I like epic RPG's and this definitely fits that category. IGN mentioned that the music and graphics weren't that good, but the score is appropriate to the game, the music for the world map is a calming tune, and the areas have music that sets the mood. I would give the game an 9/10

I liked this game enough to buy the original Tales of Symphonia for the gamecube off of amazon.com. It cost $22 but I remember it used to be $20 brand new during the last generation of consoles. I almost bought it a few years ago, but I had never heard of the series before so I didn't...now I am really regretting that decision.

    • Transformers 2

I went to see transformers 2 today. I thought the first transformers movie was so-so, so I wasn't expecting much. This movie was awesome! (Then again any movie with giant fighting robots and Megan Fox is awesome). This one had a lot more action than the first one did, and unlike the last one the robots made the move cool not dumb. I would rate this one an 8.5 out of 10.

Yes, you have a few games I love. But somehow the others I just can't seem to like ever, what i'm trying to say is that they just never were my game type. My childhood games are the following, and they are most of te best games I have ever played.

      Cammander Keen for PC

      Earthworm JIM PC

      Crash bandicoot Warped PS

Zelda A Link To the past N64

      Spyro Ripto's Rage PS

      Super Mario N64

Im sure there are others that im not thinking of right now but thats all at the top of my head. I would list all the games that I love most of all but that would take too much time. I am not a critique though.
