Lets talk about the fights in volume 4, and where to me they went wrong. The way that I heard Burnie and such describe Monty's (obligatory rip) animation style way more of a dance than a fight. This gave the fights a personal and intimate feeling that made them so unique and great. Volume 4 lost this. The fights seemed impersonal and just there. The characters fighting styles completely disappeared from how they fought in V1-3. The floaty low gravity and goofy cartoon attacks don't leave as much of an impression as the old ones did. In V1-3, each blow felt coordinated, thought out, and executed with a plan and flow. In V4, they seemed to just pop in and out of fights, throwing themselves and their weapons around randomly hacking and slashing. The cartoony aspect of these fights just made them so disconnected from the intimate fights that RWBY is known and loved for. It's basically one of the shows biggest draws, and V4 just doesn't deliver in the same way. That's my thoughts, hopefully, they go back to thinking of their fights like a dance. because of that made RWBY different and great. (Honestly, the fights in RWBY are some of the best animated out there. (if you disagree with that statement please point me to ones you think are better, I would love to check them out).
