I haven't seen him for a long time... he got banned once then created another account, made a couple posts and got bored with us I think.

It's worth it. With airsoft and real steel, you get what you pay for. I'd rather build a few really good guns than have a whole bunch of not as good ones. I'm kinda to the place now where I've gotten most guns I thought I wanted but I hardly use most of them. There's really two main guns for me and that's my M14 and my AK-47. Get a few good guns that you really like fielding and fill different roles and make them awesome!

Would the guys you know happen to be V3? I doubt it but I know there based out in Texas now too. I'd definatley take Florida over Texas if I were you though!! I've seen plenty of SAW's, and Panther has a RPK....

Custom work is just fun to do. Especially when you get parts made for one thing and make them fit on another and look damn sexy doing it! I couldn't be happier with how my M14 looks. My poor old FNC (RIP) was a good first custom gun. Just be careful. The custom gun thing gets expensive!

I'd like to come down. A few of us have been talking about doing a long distance event in maybe Florida or Texas or someplace like that. We've got contacts both places...

Our team isn't really based off anything. One of my friends was on a team that was based off the Marines. We just run what ever sounds like fun at the time! But almost everyone runs straight AEGs. Up until two weekends ago, we had never had a SAW on our field... And that was me! I killed the entire enemy team by my self with it. That was pretty great.

Nope. My newest gun is a Yugoslavian PAP M59 (SKS)... But it's still pretty old. I think its from the 60's. That and the Chinese SKS I have. But its pretty much crap except for the epic win spike bayonet...

I wish I could come down! Maybe if there's a spring break event I can get a few guys from KSUAT to come down with me. But it's expensive to drive to Florida. I can't fly with my guns for sure! I'd probably just be able to bring two though. And that would be my M14 and the 21E. I'm trying to sell a bunch of guns right now to fund the 21E.

That should be a good gun even if it can't shoot 300 feet like he said. I keep thinking about getting a VSR-10 but I don't like sniping. I'm a gunner. I've ran a SAW a few times now and just love it. I've always used my M14 like it was a SAW though. But that gearbox in the M14 is unstoppable... except by Crosman BBs!

300 feet is probably pushing it a bit but I have no doubt that it will handily outshoot most guns in range. Ben's VSR-10 will shoot about 220 feet and he's got $1800 in it with all the best parts PDI makes! The only way to make it shoot much further than that is to have REALLY high FPS like over 650 FPS. And that's not legal at any event! But in any case, it should be a good gun for you. I know I can't do the sniper role... I'm not patient enough. I always enjoy running as a SAW gunner. Nothing quite like killin 'em with fire to lighten up your day!

One of my friends has a TM VSR-10 that he's put about $1300 into... It's got all the PDI boreup kit, tight bore, V-Trigger, everything. And my M14 still shoots as far and nearly as accurately!

Well, there's gonna be a lot of updates with this 21E build. I've got a huge event coming up November 8th that I'd like to have it done by but I don't know if that will happen or not. I'd at least like to be able to pass it as the 11E which is the drum mag fed LMG... Doing the gun mods is gonna be easy. The tough thing will be building the belt feeder and the ammo box from scratch...

I'm always down for meeting fellow airsofters but I'm not sure that I could ever afford a trip to Florida in a 13 mpg Dodge pickup! It's only 1400 miles each way!!! It would cost me roughly $600 just in gas to go... There's no way I could take my guns and gear on an airplane. But it would be bad ass. I am always down for a good game. It would be pretty flippin awesome if I could bring a few of my team mates to something like that because we always tear it up when we travel.

    • Cutlasslord

I'd like to come. I probably can't afford to do it though. It would be an epic trip though. If I ever can come, I'm gonna have to bring the 21E once its done and my epic M14.

Luckily (depending how you view it), we don't have AP sciences. But I'll be in AP french this year, so that's going to be a lot of work.

I've never been someplace that used the powder discharging ones. We just have PVC tubes that we use a regular M203 style grenade in to launch a nerf football. Then if that lands within 15 feet, everyone in that radius is dead.

    • Cutlasslord

Yup. Mortars are "area of effect weapons". I dunno that events particular rules but most places say that if one comes within 15 feet of you you are out. It sucks but that's how it is.

This game I was at was big. We had MAJOR corporate sponsors. The rep from Real Sword was there and I straight away went to him and got him to play with us. He let me rock his Real Sword Norinco Type 97 and a custom AK they had. No doubt about it. My next gun will be Real Sword. I'm impressed.

Somehow, I don't think turning Amish will make my body stop trying to kill me. Granted, the only things I know about the Amish come from "Amish Paradise," King Pin. and Sex Drive.

    • Cutlasslord

      What's it doing?

    • Cutlasslord

It depends. The gun stops whenever you stop pulling the trigger. I know the timing on my gun to quit pulling the trigger when the piston is all the way forward. But if you don't, you can easily end up with the piston stuck part way back or all the way back. Have you checked to see that you battery is charged up all the way? Sometimes if it isn't charged up good and the piston is stuck clear at the back, it don't have enough juice to move it and finish the firing cycle.

      Negative is counter-clockwise.

    • Cutlasslord

If you unthread your stock flash hider, it should be 14mm negative thread. It's extremely standard. I've never seen an M4 without that thread. Almost any silencer or flash hider will thread onto it. In the 11 airsoft guns I currently have, only two don't have 14mm negative threads... And they are 14mm positive.

though I appreciate it, I don't want a fair trial.

Thunderdome is about organized chaos with many tangents. The point of the group is to get people that have never spoken before to get to know each other and talk. So the admins and I always try ways to make this happen. I came up with this idea on the fly. It is doing really well.

if it aint broke don't fix it.

    • JeffSon

Ah. My apologies for not clarifying.

LR = Long Rifle. There is also a .22 Short that is used for light game hunting (rabbits, squirrels, etc...) and a .22 magnum (fox, coyote, etc). Those were pretty much cast aside once the .22LR became most prevalent, but they still have their uses.

    • JeffSon

Machine guns? smiley3.gif Who's talking about a machine gun?

A .22LR is a caliber of bullet chambered in probably the most widely manufactured plinking rifle/pistols in the world. They are plentiful.

    • FloodKicker

It goes pretty well! What about you?

    • Cutlasslord

Yeah. I always used my hard plastic reed for competition or solos. The softer reeds are nicer to practice on every day though...

    • Cutlasslord

Ehh. I usually go a little softer on reeds unless it's plastic. I like hard plastic reeds. I usually used Vandoren 2.5s. They didn't seem to have as bad of a "spit" problem as my harder ones. Something else I did that worked pretty well for me was to use a "hard" plastic tenor sax reed on my alto sax. I didn't trim it down or anything. It was the right pitch but it gave the alto a little bit different sound. I always got comments from judges about my tone quality when I did that...

    • Cutlasslord

I'm looking more at getting an airsoft M2 .50 cal... Sure it's ginormic and not very portable but it would be epic!

I probably won't sell the Selmer... yet. Most saxes have that problem. I have it the most with plastic reeds. Wood reeds soak it up better.

    • Cutlasslord

I just looked them up.... Those Selmers are going for like $4500! DAYUM! That would buy me a pickup or a few more guns...

But I had an old Yamaha that I used for every day and for marching. It was a phenomenal jazz sax because of the sound it had. But if I had to do a solo or contest piece, I used the Selmer...

I played a Canonball tenor once in a pit orchestra for a musical. That thing was nice... I always said that if for some reason I had to buy another sax, that's what I'd get. I like them much better than most of the other saxes in that price range.
