      Another RTX escapes

Unfortunitely another year escapes me in that I am unable to go to the famous RTX event, my excitement keeps growing as if I was able to go myself just from all the hype! and it is well deserved too! I mean who wouldn't want to join in on a great time with friends and loved ones and fellow community members for a weekend of absolute greatness!! I'm stuck in San Diego however since I ended up using my days of leave (days off that is) for later in July going into August :/ if I had more days stocked up then I absolutely would be there!! I look forward to the next year because I will make it a priority to go! and only the higher ups will be able to stop me! the first two I had no income and I was in training for my military occupation so I wasn't able to make it but now I am able to and will! I cannot wait to meet everyone else in the community!

      40000 gamerscore!

Finally after three weeks of having to sell half of my games, a whole week at work and multiple bits of rage from problems with games freezing, i finally got my gamerscore to 40000! I was looking to finish skyrim but it doesnt want me to apparently so i got it in Metro 2033! So time to relax a bit, and begin planning for 50000... cheers!

      Gamerscore

So I have had this account (gamertag I mean) since.... I think around 2008 or so, My first account I had when Crackdown first came out, I remember going over to a friends house to watch him play back with the old "blades" menu. Well as you can see I came a LONG way and looking back at my old gamertag (the original Jackrabbitman, the name is a whole different story) One, I wish i could transfer the achievements because the entire first assassins creed is on the old one among others. But comparing the two i had only 4380 points on my original! and here I am, some six years later, about to breach the 40,000 threshold! Which for six years isn't as much as some, but ive only been getting my own paycheck for a year and a half now. Regardless, I find this as a great milestone, but now I have to cram so much more to get to the real prize.... 50,000 Thankfully there are many more games to buy both old and new to guide me!

      General ideas/ personal motivation

in Forums > General ideas/ personal motivation | Follow this topic

Being as I am in the Marines, the standard for being physically fit is decently high, also as a band nerd/ video game geek since birth really, I have NEVER been "fit" until now. I've lost a bit since i've lacked any real motivation to do so, but I have our big fitness test coming up soon where we run 3 miles, try for a max of 20 pullups and 100 crunches/ sit-ups under 2 mins. I REALLY need to get my pull ups back up and I would love for a perfect 18 minute 3 mile. So I felt this was the perfect time and opportunity to push myself back to better shape. Currently I can do a 3 mile in about 22 mins without trouble, 100 crunches without stopping but only a whopping 4 pullups :/ very sub-par considering the vast majority of the males here. What are some other stories of goal in mind, or even some motivation to reach your individual goals? I really think this could be more fun the more people get involved and share. Heck I bet there are a bunch of awesome stories you all could share as well! I would totally love to hear about em, and that's what I want this thread to be about! :D the happiness and fun everyone could have taking part in this event! Share away fellow gamers!!

I really dont mind I love these games and i am an achievement prostitute so i dont care too much. Plus i got nothing better to do aside from enjoy some games!

      Work

So its 11pm here in California, and my work schedule has finally let me off until 3am when i have to get up and work again. So I type this for the general viewer asking this: I would like to get into recording videos much like the rest of the internet, with my pals that live here as well, I am thinking along the lines of recording xbox gameplay, minecraft, halo, call of duty, again, the usual stuff. However, I don't really know what equipment i should get my hands on, or what would be good for decently rugged use and to record in basically very small apartment-like rooms. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

      Game Writers/ Writing

in Forums > Game Writers/ Writing | Follow this topic

So, I have been asking Full Sail and The Art Institute on their Game Writing programs, (AI seems to be a better place to go rather than Full Sail, plus AI knows how to deal with the military more than Full Sail was able to) and I know that in this vast world that is the internet, there has to be even a few people interested in the same thing. Writing story lines, plots, characters and whatnot. Take this as a shout out to the other writers out there or even the fellows who want to get into writing, to help each other out and discuss anything about it, experiences, tips, your own work, and so on. I would love the ideas and help, plus who doesn't like knowing about something before getting into it?

      I am a bad gamer

I should change up my word choice from the title. Ive really been a "negligent gamer" instead, meaning, I have neglected so many great games over the years and stuck with the Big Hitters like Halo and Call of Duty, even Assassins Creed based on the amount of games associated with it. I JUST started playing Mass Effect again this past month after playing it only from the start several times, and getting frustrated at its controls, or how it isn't a FPS, or other childish gaming frustrations, and I feel bad now! I should re-buy Red Dead because I still haven't completed that even though i want to, and Mass Effect has stolen my heart with how awesome it is! To sum it all up, I need to re-think my gaming motives to how they should be, as appreciating what men and women take years of hard work to make for us, to honor their dedication to their craft by playing the crap out of their games! End rant now..... siiiiiiiigh :)
