In case you didn't know, the physical CD of the Red vs. Blue Season 13 soundtrack is available at the Rooster Teeth Store:
CDs are a funny thing nowadays, mostly because they're so damn inconvenient.
They require time, talent, and expertise to design. They require experience and logistics to manufacture and ship. They cost more money at every step along the way, and sell in considerably fewer quantities than anything else.
Even the person acquiring the CD is inconvenienced: CDs need space to live, and they need to be properly cared for to last.
Nevertheless, we still see the posts and messages: "glad the mp3s are out, but I'm going to wait for the physical release."
I don't know what the disease is, but I have it too. The experiential sensation of opening the case, of hearing the disc spin up, of reading liner notes, of having the artist communicate to you in a visual form, it's why I like to own CDs of music I love.
I'm glad and lucky to work for a company that still puts out CDs -- it's a labor of love for everyone involved.
We're all proud of the music that we created for this soundtrack, but if there's one name that's missing from the cover, it's that of Miles Luna: his contributions in shaping this soundtrack are unparalleled in the twelve years I've worked on the show.
