Here's to a much better one, bring on 2015!

    • Graduation!!

While leading up to graduation was stressful, the actual day was incredible. Graduated with my undergraduate degree and a diploma (which I've just now realised I left in my parent's car, who have gone home), which meant I was in my own little category. Nerve-wracking but at least they pronounced my name right? I'm glad I got to spend it with all my family, including my two grandma's, and just wish it hadn't gone by so quickly!

    • 7 Facts About Me

      wolftrek

Thanks to @crofteria for tagging me :D Took me a while to get around to doing it, but here we go!

      1. Cat isn't my full name.
So I've always introduced myself as 'Cat' (sometimes with a K) since I was about fifteen because often people find it hard to pronounce my full name, Catrona, which is essentially pronounced as Catrina but, you know, with an o sound (hence why I don't understand why it's so hard to pronounce). It's actually Scottish/Celtic and is normally spelled as 'Catriona' but pronounced the same way, so my parent dropped the i to make it easier (hahaha). I have another Celtic name as a middle name plus two mandarin names, to make a grand total of five names!

      2. I write a lot.
I used to want to be an author when I was little, but my parents always told me it wasn't the most financially stable career out there which put me off for a while and stopped me writing. However I picked it back up again a few years later when I discovered fanfiction (oh god) and have started writing original material again. I have a few ideas for novels, but not much time to write unfortunately.

      3. I'm really accident prone.
I'm super clumsy, although that has lessened over the last few years. I have far too many injury stories that are just plain dumb as to how it happened (the best one for sure is the time I tore my shoulder muscle because I was doing backwards rolls against the current of the lazy river in the public pool). I trip over nothing a lot, drop things, and yes, walk into objects.

      4. I have grapheme-colour synesthesia.
It's sounds way more sinister than it actually is. Basically when I read words I see colours, and sometimes when I hear them too. Unfortunately, some of these colours are hard to describe/don't really exist, so when people ask me what colour they are, sometimes I just get really confused trying to put the colour into words.

      5. .... I can't see colours very well.
I know this seems contradictory, but with my synesthesia I see the colours in mind. Physically though, my colour perception is kinda weak, and is the main reason why I need glasses. Without them, everything is a much less vivid, and I can't tell shades apart very well. Also I can't read light colours when they're on a white background... you can imagine my struggle in school when the teachers wrote on the whiteboard with green and red markers (I didn't have glasses then).

      6. I'm more of a dog person.
I'm not saying I hate cats. I love cats, but I love dogs more. Dogs just want to love you all the time, and know when you're sad, and they're so happy. I also love how they all universally get excited by the word 'walk'. They're so cute :3

      7. I just finished my undergraduate degree!
Although we haven't got official results yet, I can't see me failing this semesters papers so I'm pretty certain I've graduated. I finished off my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and my Diploma of Languages in French this year. I have no clue what I'm doing next year; I wasn't accepted into the course I really wanted to get into which sucks (especially finding out on my birthday...), so I don't know if I'll do Honours instead or just take a gap year to work. I guess I'll just have to see what happens.

I'm going to tag @catthesheep, @NukularGear, @trisaratops, @Dumbox, and @FlutterCat. If you guys have already done this then you can tag someone else?

EXAMS ARE OVER BRING ON THE HOLIDAYS!

    • Opinions? Starting a YT channel.

      wolftrek

Hey guys! So recently-ish I decided that after my exams finish at the beginning of November, I'm going to start up a gaming channel on YT. I've been debating over the last three years of university whether I should do this, and it wasn't until a couple of months ago, around the time I joined this site, that I decided that this was something I really wanted to do.

I've got everything I need ready to go, but I wasn't sure what game(s) I should start with. I was wondering if you guys might have suggestions on what to play first:

      Borderlands series
      Amnesia / Outlast
      Bioshock series
      Or something else

I bought these games a while ago and have never played them, so there will be a lot of... failing, probably. Hopefully it's entertaining rather than painful to watch. On top of one or more of those games, I do plan on playing Minecraft at some point with my brother/friends, and maybe some other multiplayers like Speedrunners and Garry's Mod with users on here (so if you wanna play games with me let me knowww!)

Basically what I'm asking is what you think I should play as my main/ongoing series. I have plenty (and I mean plenty) of other stand-alone games that I definitely will get around to.

Also if anyone has editing tips for VideoPad, I could use some... editing = not my strong point or favourite thing to do.

After a day of hardly any study, going to sit down with a cup of tea and watch the Walking Dead. Just the way I like it.

(Totally don't have an exam tomorrow... cough).

    • Today was not my day.

I'm sorry this is so long, I wish I could put it under a cut, BUT THAT'S JUST HOW CRAPPY TODAY HAS BEEN AND IT'S ONLY 3PM.

I woke up feeling pretty crappy today, but I'd promised a friend/flatmate I'd go into town with her to do some shopping. First place we went into (she was looking for a dress for graduation) the woman kept hounding me to try on dresses while my friend was in the changing room and just generally annoying me.

Then we went to some other clothes shops for more casual wear, but I kinda got overcome by anxiety for a bit and nearly had a panic attack. Which was unnoticed by my friend. So that was great.

By the time lunch rolled around I was feeling better though. At least until I ordered this pita bread thingy and didn't realise it had apple in it. Which I'm allergic to. So now I have a lovely itchy throat and sore stomach.

Having had enough of a terrible day, I offered to take my friends stuff back home with me on the bus, including a new laptop that she'd bought cos her's had just crapped out. We waited in line for 20 minutes to be served at the laptop place, which made me late for the bus, but they came every 1/2 hour so I was all good to wait in the sun until then.

When the next bus arrived, I hopped on, only to realise a couple of minutes down the road that I hadn't looked at what bus I'd taken; and my bad luck continued. It stopped short of where I wanted to go, but I finally had a stroke of luck and managed to catch the right bus further down the road (although running after it wasn't much fun).

THEN (and yes, this gets worse) when I pressed the stop button for the bus, the bus driver didn't see/hear it, and continued past my stop and up the hill. When I finally caught his attention and asked for him to stop at the next stop (couldn't press the button again because it was still lit up!) he got really angry at me and yelled at me for not pressing the button. Which I had.

So then I had a nice walk lugging all of my friend and I's stuff back down to our flat, which ended up being the same distance as if I had just walked home from the beginning. Luckily it was downhill and not uphill I guess.

      But really, fuck today.

It's a pseudonym for a bunch of authors. Their original series was Warriors, which is about clans of cats who live in a forest. Since then they've branched onto other things, but I mainly read the cats ones when I was younger.

I used to write a lot of fanfiction, but lately I've been focusing on my own fiction instead.
